Twas just a matter of time. He's expressing what most of us think; that the antics going on at the club are beyond a joke and no longer acceptable. Good luck to him in finding a new job.

I've been a fierce critic of him as a manager, very fierce critic. But as a person, he's earned my total respect. Good luck to him in the future.

I'm amazed he stuck it out for as long as he did.

There was always something reassuring about his presence and he's conducted himself impeccably. Now he's gone I'm really worried.

Sad news. I know he had had his ups and downs with you on the pitch over the years but he’d been a real rock through all this turmoil from an outsiders point looking in?

He deserves to be remembered very fondly. Got us promoted, then survived, then did his damndest to keep the club afloat during quite possibly our darkest ever time.

I hope he goes on to bigger and better. Cheers for everything, Phil.

Absolutely this. Walks away with his head held high and a huge amount of credit for hanging around for so long, when he could have walked away months ago. Must be a huge weight off his shoulders this evening. Good luck Parky!

Nah. He’s known about it for weeks. He’ll be along shortly to tell us so!

I think Parky has represented the club with huge credit since he has been here, and particularly over the last twelve months. I wish him the very best for the future.

Indeed. ;) I did not know he’d go now. But I did tell a few I suspected and had heard he would not stay under new owners.

I’m really disappointed but not surprised. In my view the best manager we’ve had since Big Sam. By quite a distance. Doesn’t mean he didn’t have flaws. But his ability to pull people together and make them want to play for him even in shit situations was impressive.

The shitstorm he’s had to deal with has been unprecedented. And he’s always kept himself together.

For me will forever be a Bolton Wanderers legend.

On the plus side he's saved the club a few bob if he was on this 'so called' rolling 12 month contract - anyway he's left because Bassini's taking over !

A very decent & dignified man but nowhere near being a legend, but if the club does survive its best for all that he's gone - and we start a fresh whatever league that may be in.

Massive loss this. Mans been absolutely impeccable in his behaviour through lack of salaries, lack of an agreed bonus, shithead owners, clueless administrators, shithouse striking players, wanker fan attacks (people still calling for his head whilst listening to Bassini wtf). He’s gained my utmost respect.

Definitely best manager since Allardyce. But the competition isn’t great!

Saw this last week - https://www.football365.com/news/hero-o ... nking-ship

Thought it was about time he had recognition a bit more nationally.

And if we are all honest the saddest thing is that it’s probably another big nail in the coffin lid of this failing takeover.

When I think of all the bullshit he's had to pass on regarding wages being paid and pushing water uphill trying to motivate a team, probably being assured and promised spending over a coffee with Shazza, surprised he stayed this long. I've heard Bassini has already applied coz managers run things, right?

Good luck to him and Parkin in the future.

We're a complete fcuking basket case.

For all his tactical flaws it seems he’s been the only one working hard to try to keep the show on the road the past 12 months. Christ knows what happens now. Also, by walking, I’m guessing he’s not tied into any confidentiality agreements so we might actually be able to hear some dirt being dished on what’s actually been happening.
