Next test - Burns, Denly, Roy and Buttler out.
Have to prepare for future - bring some young batsmen in. Just anyone who has been playing red ball cricket in England. Labuschange playing in conditions - came from nowhere to top score.
Useless playing those boys - just too easy to get out.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Burns is the second highest run scorer in the series, opening, in a series where top order resistance has been scarce, so more than a tad harsh to jettison him. The rest I don’t disagree with. I’d even consider adding Bairstow as he’s been dreadful for 12 months aside from 1 innings in Sri Lanka and a cameo last weekend. It’s obvious those guys aren’t good enough, so sticking with them will simply be more of the same. I’d be tempted to get a core of young batsmen who the selectors think could make the step up and give them an extended run together with an aim of being a top side again in 3 or 4 years.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:09 pmNext test - Burns, Denly, Roy and Buttler out.

Broad’s a bell end with his reviews. Not sure why Root listens to him.

Burns was ok till they realised that you just give him the short treatment....jimbo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:47 pmBurns is the second highest run scorer in the series, opening, in a series where top order resistance has been scarce, so more than a tad harsh to jettison him. Denly - Definitely. Burns and Buttler - debatable. Roy - stick him in at 4 and tell him to play it like a one dayer.

Picking Eoin Morgan as a wild card doesn't seem quite so daft now. To lose..The Ashes.....

This is pretty painful. Beaten team out there two days into a test.

Cricket is supposed to be joyful and spirit-lifting, not depressing and soul-destroying. Our heroes with the willow failed at just the wrong time. With the ball we more than held our own, with the bat........

My highlight of today was watching Jofra Archer nick that inflatable melon back of that jobsworth steward and bat it back into the crowdTANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 7:19 pmCricket is supposed to be joyful and spirit-lifting, not depressing and soul-destroying.

So, they have to put us in and get us out to be sure of keeping the Ashes. Not giving up yet, but we're no looking er, favourites...still, Come on, never say die.... !

Fair f*cks to Ben Stokes. Certainly no doubting his heart.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
I think yesterday was one of the worst days ever watching England. It started with such optimism after Archer’s burst to finish off Australia for what appeared to be a poor total on Thursday night. We had a glorious sunny day, crowd in good voice and seemingly perfect conditions where if we batted half decently we’d be in a winning position by close of play.
Instead 2 hours of ineptitude later and we've been blown away, along with any chance of keeping the urn here.

Unpopular opinion: party stands are bad for cricket and should be scrapped.
