It would be an ideal situation to have 2 bidders but I just find it so hard to take anything he says seriously.
The last time we had a late entry to a takeover we got Ken. And he wasn’t as guilty as feck* Holdsworth with his payday loan!!

I get it. Bad buyer better than no buyer. But I think if you take a chance on buying us cheap without due diligence it screams chancer looking to evade any kind of scrutiny. I want FV to buy it.

Nixon's tweeting again. Usual caveats apply.
(Can it happen today?)
Yes. Football Ventures need their deal done before the Manchester chap gets the hotel deal finalised. That’s the real race just now.

(But will Anderson agree?)
Anderson is out of the equation if Manchester chap gets hotel. However he has to be dealt with if FV want to complete. As do others. Not just him. Davies family. Even PFA deal needs locking down. The timing of that one ...

(Why would Anderson be out?)
Manchester guy paying in full for hotel. Up front. Mainly. Therefore that money pays off creditors. James company and Anderson.

(How soon?)
Hotel admin were expecting a result last night or early this morning. They let the lawyers of both groups finalise. First done gets club.

(Will FV complete today?)
It was all heading that way last night. James putting extra funds into it. Because they were short. The PFA loan an interesting one in light of events elsewhere ...

(How fast would club be done after hotel decision?)
Things are always quicker when you have money. FV need hotel for their plans. Manchester chap wants it and then club.

(Will FV do it? Yes or no?)
Yes. They should be able to. Thanks to the extra James finances.

(is that what it is down to now, the bidder to complete first as in fastest and not formalities?)
Both FV and Manchester guy have Heads of Terms. Their lawyers need to complete.
Kind of backs up what some of us have been saying for a while about FV and their pot.
Biggest worry for me anyway is this;
If FV have not got a reasonable pot and James is possibly stretching his own finances to support what they have, where is the money to take the club forwards going to come from?

Is this going to be a temporary reprieve and in 12, 24 months will we be in the same situation?

Are FV (James apart because he is supposed to be a massive fan) looking for short term ownership with balancing the books, relative football success then flog on for profit? because if they are they will need funds they don't appear to have to deliver.

Yes the club will survive for now but I got that can feeling, sentiment won't pay the future bills nor will empty coffers.

Its obvious that there is no mega wealthy individual who wants to take us on
If Michael James can pull it off, then I'd be delighted.... cutting our cloth to suit our means much better solution than oblivion

Meanwhile.... tick tock tick tock goes the clock

If FV wanted to flog for profit - the Ken model - then they've rather had that plan shot to shit by us almost certainly getting relegated again. I think James just wants to save us. Certainly doesn't seem a path to riches, unless we can find another Eddie who's happy to write cheques without being the main man. Not many of those sorts of ego-free zones about. And besides, isn't spending beyond your means being proved to be a very dodgy recipe?

I understand the hesitation, and there's definitely a sense of "Oh NOW you turn up", but I'm genuinely intrigued as to the other bidders. I was thinking to myself, this could be heaven or this could be hell...

I fear for the future under FV though (and yes, I understand fearing for the future is better than no future at all). It would appear that selling off the ground is at the heart of their business plan. There'll be no coming back from that scenario once it goes tits up, and it's almost bound to go tits up once you start renting your own ground.

The football league has got to make selling / leaseback of grounds impossible to do. It’s happening to quite a few now and it’s a toad to disaster I agree. Is that at the heart of FV’s plan?

I’d be happiest with an owner that ran us on an even keel to be honest - turn a little profit, wages to suit.

Cannot see for one minute the value of the ground being able to sustain BWFC for more than a season, if that, and that would be running at bare bones in an even lower division, no incentive to put bums on seats or buy merchandise to provide extra funding nor future generations of fans.
Depressed feeling is the answer before anyone asks and the blame as I see it is with KA for his pure greed and inability to sack the manager when it obviously wasn't going to plan.

Aye.

Even if this sale to FV goes thru, I can see increasingly dark days ahead. I think it's gonna keep getting a lot worse before it gets any better

Allardyce was right yesterday when he said this sale is not about "advancing the club" its about keeping it alive.

We've just seen Bury go. Like that. So I think right now if we survive its the biggest thing to happen to this club in history and should be cause for celebration.

We're in league 2 so lets just accept on the pitch its tough for a while. But we live to fight another day. I'd happily accept a decade in league 2 in exchange for the deal being across the line. Without a shadow of any doubt.

It's at its worst in the Championship. Maybe being far away from there will help.
