Time will tell but seems like a good choice. His teams play good football and he knows the league, so even though we are knocking on the door very late, should have contacts to get us decent players still available. FV really impressing so far.

This.... but it comes across as the cheapest option for FV, but time will tell - the next 48 hours will be interesting.
Good timing though.

Cheapest option would have been Jimmmy Phillips or David Lee....Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 9:16 amThis.... but it comes across as the cheapest option for FV, but time will tell - the next 48 hours will be interesting.

Re: The next manager
K.H. seems well satisfied to be managing Bolton and regards his appointment as an honour. Good sign for starters. As a manager he'll almost certainly get a grip on stopping us being the League One whipping boys. Sorry we didn't get Kev Nolan, but this appointment looks decent. Good luck Mr Hill and welcome to Bolton Wanderers..

Actually saw the sun shining this morning.
Feels like everything is fitting into place.
I bet Keith Hill is excited as we are at the prospect of turning the ship around.
Onwards and upwards.

Exactly. Experienced. And will love the job. Lives here. And has done his best work with Flitcroft alongside him who has in recent times done good work as a manager. Also a Bolton lad. Re: The next manager
Happy with Hill/Flitcroft. Best option I feel for the situation we are in i.e. young players, low budget, likely journey back from L2, experience of the bottom two divisions.
Impressed but not totally surprised with the speed FV are operating. Good to have the managerial team in before the TW shuts. Lets hope they can operate effectively in getting players in. I do wonder who will be conducting negotiations? We don't appear to have any scouting/agent/player liason type people?

Re: The next manager
Not my choice... I would have loved to see David Lee get a step up... never mind I think Hill is a great appointment too
Lots of experience.... maybe just whats needed now.... a bucket full of lower league experience
Onwards and upwards.... I'm looking forwards to a great season

My mate text me yesterday that he drinks in No Name. Don't really like Seven Stars so I would question his judgement as well.

I've never seen Rochdale play, so what kind of style of football does our Mr Hill espouse?

To be fair the No Name gets a bit cramped when there's more than one person inmalcd1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 12:27 pmBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 11:31 amDrinks in the Seven Stars rather than the No Name. Well, the No Name is my regular boozer and I'm yet to see him in there, whereas I'm photographed with him on one of my extremely rare visits to the Seven Stars.malcd1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 12:27 pmBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 11:31 am

Licenced premises aside, I'm delighted with his appointment. Well connected, knows this level well, his sides play adventurous football, really looking forward to seeing how things shape up.
Those calling for David Lee, I'm of the stoic opinion that we're absolutely no place for beginners just now.

Me, William the White and a couple of others badgered the landlord to put Timothy Taylor's Landlord on. He finally gave it a go - now it's on permanently. Happy for it to get a bit cramped
EDIT: They also sell Carr's pasties. Absolute heaven

From what I hear they're both full of beans and bursting to crack on. Probably on the phones all day today, seeing who's available that they know, and who might be available that they don't.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:04 pmwhen do Messrs Hill and Flitcroft start? Tomorrow morning?
