Flimsy title yes.

Jack Ross's side are odds on favourites to beat us, can we beat the odds and grind out a result? Game going to be a good one?

I'm reckoning if there's any sign of us winning this we'd better look forward to being pounded like the Alamo mission for 90 mins. That's going to be the hard part for me, because knowing our recent history, there's no way Sunderland will contemplate losing, even drawing. Hope we can give them a shock......COME ON YOU WHITES... :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Was just about to go with "Hoping wear gonna mackem suffer" or some variant.

I will be there. So far my two games this season have both been 0-5 defeats. Hoping for an improvement here...

I was going to reference black cats, however, I got called upon to do some work. Anyway, my first league match of the season. I almost feel a twinge of impostor syndrome. Back in my usual seat it'll be interesting to see how many of those with whom I've sat both with and amongst for the past several years are there tomorrow.

A stout performance will do for me.

Whatever - it'll feel good to be back.
May the bridges I burn light your way

After Tuesday, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. A similar level of performance and we could get our first win. Similar to Rotherham and it could be another gubbing. Hopefully we have one of the new strikers available for selection.

Same. Last match was one of the most entertaining Bolton matches I've seen in a long time, even if we did go off the boil second half. We'll come at this fitter still and if we have a recognised striker up front it should make a world of difference. Still might not be enough to overcome a team like Sunderland, but if we do lose at least we'll lose in the right way.

Well, according to Iles we're striker-less for a third time. If we string together a few draws that could have been wins here, I can see this being a big regret come the end of the season. Do wonder why we haven't used another slot to get a free agent in. Is that cause of the embargo?

There's only a couple of slots left I think so they're having to be careful we're not left short in other areas during the rest of the season. Surprises and disappoints me that neither of the two new strikers aren't even ready for the bench yet.

Because we are severely restricted in wages we can offer and haven’t been able to agree a deal with any other striker - I believe we offered the Rangers lad a deal but not what he was after. We also have the issue that when fit you could potentially have three strikers for one place in a limited squad size.

Iles reports Hill saying three weeks for Murphy, more like five for O’Grady, Brockbank and any other injuries I’ve forgotten.

Fortune (not Quinton) sure ain't smiling on us right now. Wonder if we'll ever have a squad with all players fit? We probably will and get hammered...

Decent start by Sunderland, we grew into the game and Politic hit the post.

Sunderland having more of the ball at the minute.

A lot of Sunderlands play is down our left. Crawford, Verlinden and Chicksen leaving a little too much space for my liking.

I don't know what these linespeople and refs are drinking but Verlinden with smart play down the right finds his way into the box, attempts to cross it and it's deflected out for a.... you guessed it a goal kick.

Unreal.
