They'll be injured or otherwise unavailable (I'm not sure Bridcutt was ever properly fit) because we only have six substitutes on the bench. Hill's bold but he's not that bold.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 2:21 pmThat's quite a weak team, especially in midfield. A win with that team today will be quite an achievement.
It will be interesting to see if Bridcutt & L Murphy are injured or have been dropped - if injured in training then Hill needs to seriously reduce the intensity of the training, because the amount of players getting injured in training is ridiculous especially knowing how low we are on available first team players.

Story of our lives; giving soft goals away.

Basic football that one,
Poor touch in field to gift them a counter attack.
The striker gave Wright a 10 yard head start and still got round him.

Poor defending from a free kick they shoot good save from Matthews, more poor defending, they score.

Are we going to be left bemoaning a not-given penalty again?

According to Iles, ref missed some blatant shirt pulling in the box apparently?

Very glad we got the equaliser, not least as it spikes Wombles’ guns, but that’s still two points we’ve dropped too.

A draw was a fair result imo. First half they were on top. 2nd half at 1-1 there only looked like one winner but we conceded out of nothing.
Lowe and Darcy were the standouts for me. Emmanuel was poor by his recent high standards.
The last two games has seen us hassled and harried by the opposition, often in our own half and it's been effective. We're keeping possession and playing some nice stuff at times right up to the penalty area and then it breaks down. What we don't appear to be doing is hunting in packs and unsettling opponents rhythm in the way it's being done to us.

Absolutely 2 points dropped, but we’ve got to bin off some of these squad players we are carrying to give Keith half a chance. Buckley, Hobbs, Weir, anyone under 23 registered in haste at the start of the season and not in the squad now...

Know what you mean but Hobbs and Weir are both contracted till June and I struggle to imagine who would take on the ageing injury-prone centre-back. Might be able to persuade Weir to go on loan to Division Four in order to get some football.
Buckley - shame as he looked capable and flexible but he’s only played 270 minutes. His contract runs to January and that now looks like a wise decision. Big decisions to make over the lapsing loans - Earl, Bridcutt, Jake Wright and Verlinden. Who earns a squad place? Oh and do we officially release Ben Alnwick, who isn’t even on the squad photo?

It really pissed me of that their lad got to have two goes at it without a white shirt near him. It's so fecking basic that it defies belief.

Re: Wombling 3. AFC Wimbledon (H) 7.12.19 KO 3pm
A better result that the one I expected when the teams were announced and, being honest, for a lot of the match. Strangely, I barely celebrated the late equaliser when it went in, even though I was happy it did, and I don't quite know why. I think it's probably because, as has been alluded to, today felt like an opportunity missed.
On the positive side of things though, I was glad to see Darcy get involved, particularly towards the latter stages. He has a way to go yet but he looks a tidy player.
