Brew Years Day - Burton Albion (H) - 01-01-2020
One we need to win, but one we probably won't
A threadbare squad further depleted with the loss of 2 of our most experienced players last time out ion Lowe (suspension) and Bridcutt (injury).
I presume Chicksen will start at left back with Earl slotting into the centre alongside Wright. Most likely we'll see 17 year old Sonny Graham replace Lowe.
Prediction: 1-2

Re: Brew Years Day - Burton Albion (H) - 01-01-2020
Beat me in with the "Brew" conection of our once famous Magee Marshall Ales Brewery, Boris, but I'm going to be a bit more optimistic. seeing as their last five are win or lose results and no draws.. A higher scoring game with us two to the good-3-1. Granted they'll probably joint the party in attacking us with gusto, but they'll have to note we're not quite the soft option we were a few weeks ago, although our injury tale of woe goes on. Nothing but a win will do once again, so let's have em....

The modern take on it, Tango, would go along the lines of 'Coors we're going to win'TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 11:18 amBeat me in with the "Brew" conection of our once famous Magee Marshall Ales Brewery, Boris,
Need to win - will end up drawing. 1-1.

Agree with Boris - looks a tough game with Lowe and Bridcutt out. A small squad has its 3 centre mids all out. An area that is arguably our weakest anyway. Do well not to lose. I like Graham but he’s not progressed since Hill came in and looks a bit lost. Darcy is progressing but I’d still say not quite physically ready to make a consistent difference.
Will be tough. I do think somehow we will make it tough for them too. 1-1 probably.

Burton are slightly below Shrewsbury in the league and have lost 4 of their last 6 away games in the league. Despite the missing players, if we can finish with 11 men on the field, then this might be winnable. I'll go out on a limb and say 1-0 to us.

Just a point: Our match for Jan 4th hasn't yet so far been rescheduled due to Albion'a cup run. Any news on that?

3 games v Burton. 3 defeats and no goals. A likely starting midfield tomorrow of Lurphy and Graham doesn't fill me with optimism.
2-1 win

We bought in the last decade with a 4-0 win. This decade, I'd settle for any sort of 3 points. Happy New Year, all.

Weir in, need him to play the game of 2 men.
Dead cert loss.

This could be 8 all if it carries on like this.
2 - 2
Shite defending by Chicksen.

Just woke up. What the hell is going on? 4-6 loss is my new prediction. Having seen on Saturday how shit our first choice midfield is, I shudder to think how bad it'll be with Weir in it.

Well 2020 can feck right off!
Re: Brew Years Day - Burton Albion (H) - 01-01-2020
2 nil up and then trailing 3-2 is absolutely ridiculous.
They've had 3 shots on target.
Jake Wright and Chicksen can fook right off. Surely better out there.

Or for us to develop / Edwards, Zouma. We ain’t staying up. No way are we getting enough points and if we do EFL will deduct us anyway. Wrights finished.
Get Edwards Graham and Politic on.

Had a real touch of bad guts and had to do a "please Miss". We were 1-0 up. Missing for a while, came back, it's half time and we're 3-2 down. I must be hallucinating, I must, I must...
