Just to confirm, George Thomason and mini-forward Mitch Henry are indeed on for Isgrove and Miller

I mean, fair, but that can't be the standard

That was... weird. Deep Gordon cross to back post, nodded against the back post, bounces out past Darcy (I think) to Mascoll who finishes.
Thomason looks good, nice left foot and an eye for a progressive pass.

I like the look of Thomason. Positive with his passing, don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’ve looked much more composed in midfield since he’s come on

Was not expecting that result,
Well done.

Taft, Greenidge, Darcy, Gnahoua and Thomason did themselves no harm.

First win with the majority of possession.
It's interesting to read the comments on Thomasson. I have to be honest, I'd completely written him off. Maybe I shouldn't have.

Course he shouldn’t be written off - not at 18. Loads of time yet. Sounds like he has got his head down and benefitted from the loan.

I just thought it was looking very unlikely for him. Signed from the fifth tier of non-league football by a manager (or maybe head of recruitment) who's since left, and sent out on loan to the third tier of non-league football despite the club's stated aim of having players ready to contribute to the first team, or be thereabouts, by the age of eighteen. I'll be pleasantly surprised, though, if he looks like a good player.

Ah yeah with you now. Forgot Hill (or the previous recruitment guy) signed him. Fingers crossed - would much rather get some of these lads on the bench than say White - better to develop our own that someone else’s.

I've only read the comments on here and from Iles, but it sounds as though last night will be of some value in terms of further defining the pecking order within the squad.
Crellin will surely be out the door as soon as we're able to bring another keeper into the building. I don't think anyone would disagree that this particular experiment has conclusively failed now. Hopefully Gilks can last the rest of the season, but we should also be looking at any half decent free agents we might be able to bring in.
White and Comley have both also failed to convince as third choice central midfielders, so we're now in a position where if either Tutte or Sarcevic isn't fit we're taking a massive hit in the middle of the park. I think we absolutely need to bring another body in during January, because Tutte especially hasn't shown he's physically up to playing two games a week so far.

For me we bring in a new number 1. Gilkes as back up. Save the wages on the clown.
Taft surely first choice centre half back up?
Hickman is wing back cover?
Thomason worth being on the bench instead of White and Comley?

5 subs allowed now. Will be interesting how they affects things. You'd expect Hickman and one of Gordon or Mascoll to be two of those most weeks now I reckon.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:21 amFor me we bring in a new number 1. Gilkes as back up. Save the wages on the clown.

Taft I reckon is first choice back up for Santos and Delaney, but was interesting to see Greenidge play on the right. As left footers go he looked confident and played a number of passes punched through the lines off his right. He's also one you'd think if they can turn into a player might be worth something.
