Is Salford City an away fixture? Sat Feb 6th 3-0'clock
Well, it's not much further than the UNIBOL to fans outside the county borough, is it? Anyway, the weather won't be a major issue as the same clouds pass over both venues. Onwards then, and a win of course....

Evatt is Streaky McStreak Face. We won just one of our opening eight league games, then won five in eight and, prior to Saturday, it was another one win in eight. So, the win against Orient signals the start of the next winning streak. 2-1 to us. I'm following the science.

Very much this.
It's bad enough we find ourselves in a division below Wigan, Rochdale and feckin Accrington. I'm not sure I can cope with Salford as well. Who's next? Daisy feckin Hill?

Hard to predict a lineup with all the new faces, but I think it's a safe bet that Maddison will start. Also given it's an away game vs a local rival I would guess he'll bring in the GOAT as a defensive shield, possibly with Lee playing a bit deeper.
My best guess at what Evatt will go for:
Gilks
Brockbank Santos Baptiste Jackson
MJ Lee
Maddison
Isgrove Doyle Arthur

Or if he wants further defensive stability perhaps Tutte alongside MJ, with Lee further forward and Maddison in for Isgrove.

I looked at this and thought MJ Lee is going to be fckn busy, before I realised it was two people...The_Gun wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:23 amHard to predict a lineup with all the new faces, but I think it's a safe bet that Maddison will start. Spoilt for choices. I would think Evatt may play Maddison, MJ, Oladapo and possibly John in the starting line up at the expense of Delf, Isgrove, Thomasson and Jackson.
Shows how silly Evatts prediction of automatic promotion was with Crellin, Gordon, White and Comley as our first choice picks.

I think Evatt said John still needed to build up his fitness before he was ready to start, but that was maybe before the Mansfield game got cancelled.
Reading the article you posted in the other thread, it looks as though Maddison's preferred position could be on the right hand side of a three, so perhaps a straight swap for Isgrove is most likely.

New boys off to a Kersal flyer. Afolayan to be Broughton for Isgrove. Santos as sharp as an Eccles cake and Baptiste back to being a Weaste of space. The early Cross Street in to Doyle's feet - that's the Quay. I do Hope to see Gnu get onto a couple, then we'll be scaling The Heights. All this going on whilst Maddison does a burnorr from ver Dibble
May the bridges I burn light your way

The last time I saw Maddison in action for Peterborough a couple seasons ago, he totally dominated the game. I thought to myself at the time, what a world class player. He played as a #10 in that game. Without Sarc, maybe Evatt may play him in that creative role which we so lack, in advance of MJ and Lee. Lets see.

I think it’s Maddison or Delf (who was better last match than he had been of late) and Isgrove or Afolayan. Think Tutte or MJ to play instead of young George. Hope GT doesn’t have his development hindered too much - he’s done pretty well given he looks like he needs feeding up a bit for pro football. Looks like there’s a league footballer in there to me.

I'm not sure I get the or/and there, Dibs (I think he will go Maddison and Delf, and neither Isgrove nor Afolayan, and don't forget Arthur). Though could be three of them.
John was supposed to start this, but with the benefit of an appearance of the bench in midweek. Tough one as any changes would be from a winning team but then the signings were signed to play. I'd go:
Jensen, Jones, Santos, Baptiste*, Jackson, Williams, Tutte, Lee, Maddison, Doyle, Arthur.
I think he'll go:
Jensen, Brocky, Santos, Baptiste, John, Williams, Thomson, Lee, Maddison, Doyle, Delf.
*It's been bothering me more than it should that people have been writing Baptiste, Santos not Santos, Baptiste

I think Doyle and Arthur are nailed on to start.
I see Maddison playing behind Doyle (where Delf started the last game), also thought Isgrove had his best game for us last weekend. That’s why I think it’s Doyle up top with Arthur left then between the other four for the other spots. Maddison has supposedly been injured - I can see him being on the bench.
It’s nice to have options! Think he will go:
Gilkes, Brocky, Santos, Baptiste, John/Jackson, MJ, Lee, Afolayan, Delf, Arthur, Doyle.

Do we even think this’ll be on? Weather forecast is saying rain pretty much non-stop between now and tomorrow evening.
Bearing in mind Salford v Colchester was called off on Tuesday due to a waterlogged pitch, it’s not looking great

fecking hell really? How amateur is league two?!
Re: Is Salford City an away fixture? Sat Feb 6th 3-0'clock
What do these feck* usually do in winter? They need to give up the game if rain is so problematic given where they’re fecking based.

Two games have already bitten the dust this morning due to waterlogged pitches:
Southend v Walsall
and
Mansfield v Forest Green

Iles: "No rain at Salford right now... But if there is a downpour I hear there is a chance this game may be called off. Officials are keeping a close eye on things. But at least it's only a 20 min journey home!"
