I think whatever they have done to keep John quiet has worked. Can’t really tell cos of the camera angle. Can’t be long before we see Arthur.

Probably a good match for Maddison this one. Plenty of possession, just lacking a bit of quality in the final third. Doyle struggling to get service given how deep Barrow are sitting.
Let's get a few long shots off and give them a mix of concerns. Don't think we're too far off and definitely a good first half just no cutting edge as of yet.

What has he offered us in the first 45 minutes? We all know he’s a good finisher but there are times when he doesn’t suit us and we don’t suit him. That 45 minutes against a deep and well drilled Barrow is the perfect example. Someone who holds the ball alongside him would be beneficial.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 4:00 pmAgain I'm laughing at your nonsensical posts.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 3:49 pmGiven he’s been carried by his 9 other outfield team mates then a chance like that you need to take if you offer absolutely nothing else other than constantly giving it away.

My problem here is that Doyle shouldn't be playing with his back to goal. He's a striker who's made a successful career by attacking the ball as it comes in and converting crosses. Unfortunately we're not (cannot) playing to his strengths.
I certainly wouldn't be blaming Doyle.

Bwfc_Insane gets a lot of stick but personally I agree with most of what he says. Doyle has been underwhelming this season, lack of service yeah, but he's missed a lot of chances, and doesn't offer much else. I like his attitude and commitment but I wish he had a bit of pace, or height. Maybe an elmander type would be good for this team.

Brough was *always* going to cut inside on his left there, luckily Jonesy didn't sell him too much

Yeah it’s the way we play. I agree. The early service he thrives on never arrives. But that’s the frustration. If we play like this a different striker might not be as deadly but might suit the shape more.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 4:08 pmMy problem here is that Doyle shouldn't be playing with his back to goal. Maddison is much better than Isgrove at corners.

Got to switch the play faster than this as they are packing the wings to stop our wide play.

When we go backwards and sideways we look exceptionally poor. It is very frustrating to watch us inject some tempo look dangerous then spend a few minutes doing nothing leaving Barrow comfortable.

Whacking a ball at 90mph across goal is not ‘a tremendous cross’.

There's a fine line between passing along the backline to drag the opposition out of shape and spending too much time passing along the backline because of an inability to drag the opposition out of shape.
Bring Arthur on to run directly at them.

I actually agree with BWFCI for once - that ball was massively over hit.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 4:21 pmPlease stop as my sides are really going to hurt.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 4:20 pmWhacking a ball at 90mph across goal is not ‘a tremendous cross’.

Not sure that was quite a free kick, not that I'm complaining...
