To be clear, I’m not suggesting that Isgrove is a like-for-like replacement for Sarce, nor that he’s as good a player. However, I do think with Delf in the 10 role we’re not massively worse off.

I’m 90% sure you’ve got the solution Evatt will go with. He likes Arthur off the bench and Maddison’s not done enough. I think it’s fine, and we should have enough to win.

Oh agreed. I think it will be Isgrove and either Delf or Dapo to come inside.
My inkling would be Dapo given his numbers off the ball and the threat he gives.

And what I'd therefor like to see is, Isgrove, rather than him continually trying to get round the full-back only to make a pitiable attempt at crossing the ball, is for him to either play an easy ball into Delf/Dapo, or pull it back to Jones (or John if he's switched sides) and let the full back deliver the crosses.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Most of his crosses end up with John anyway, tbf.

Evatt has this week said that each game should be treated as a cup game. Anyone thinks we're going to turn teams over only have to look at the Barrow result mid week.
Got to be on our guard as we know where arrogance gets us.

I mean I hope players are taking that attitude but I'm fine with us getting carried away!
We have looked a class above consistently for a while. Big pitch, v a team in bad nick. Home win.

I'm thinking "focus" is a word that Evatt uses quite a lot when delivering "content". There was interview with King Arfur after Mansfield where he repeats it about half a dozen times in 1 minute 30...like it'd been tattooed to his head.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 1:08 pmThis.irie Cee Bee wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 12:26 pmIn this league, it has been proven that form means nothing. Regardless of form, Walsall not really been blown away by anyone but we should be confident (not arrogant). For the undoubted quality we showed against Cambridge, there's been more games where we've struggled to break down "park and break" tactics and have been somewhat fortunate with the roll of the dice. That's ok, you get those breaks nearer the top of the league than the bottom.
Agree, as much as we're confident we need to treat every game as one we could lose. No coincidence our "form" has had a strong basis in keeping the oppo to nil.

Half time scores in the early games looking pretty good for us:
Stevenage 1-0 Carlisle
Newport 0-0 Leyton Orient
Edit: Just noticed that Carlisle have also had a man sent off.

Pretty surprised with that, which isn't a bad thing, at the moment!

It's the starting line-up I think most of us were expecting. There's probably an argument for being slightly bolder and starting Gnahoua ahead of Isgrove considering the quality of the pitch and the form the opposition have been in, but I won't grumble.

Arthur needs to be hammering Evatts door down. He’s on the bench, expect to see him around about the hour. Be interesting who gets the nod between Elbo and Maddison as well.

Orient have just gone ahead in the 61st minute: Conor Wilkinson.
Oh and Carlisle equalised then quickly conceded again.
