Re: The athletics/running thread
I was just trying to push you to a faster time. It wasn’t a mistake. For the record I’m to as the BOM, which sounds way better than BUM!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 8:30 pmManaged to run a sub 30 5k today which frankly counts as an achievement these days showing how far I’ve fallen . Not helped by Bolton’s finest B.U.M (or whatever the fancy name for bursar is) working out incorrectly the pace per mile I would have to go to achieve such a feat causing me to set off as if I was being chased by a rabid Spurs fan. The millions of pounds us taxpayers pay for education are clearly safe in BP’s hands.
Caught up on 2 x sets of abs and squats this morning too. Still have today’s to do though.
Well done on your sub 30 min 5k! I take all the credit.

Caught up with my abs and squats after 2 sets yesterday and 2 sets today. All now up to date and finishing line for the month is in sight. How’s everyone else doing?

Up to date with mine. Sub 28 min 5k run tonight which amazed me, as it felt like I was running through treacle. Out again tomorrow with Bruce.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 11:04 pmCaught up with my abs and squats after 2 sets yesterday and 2 sets today. Re: The athletics/running thread
Couple of days to catch up on but did a 10k time trial tonight.
45.40 is the best I've run since I moved up. Room for improvement as I am suffering with Plantar fascitis atm but happy to tick over for now.

Today’s abs and squats were hard! They get harder still but it’s nearly the end of the month now and I want to keep momentum going. Was wondering about this one next?! Anyone fancy it for April to work off all the Easter eggs?!

I'd set as my target to waddle round 100k in March, I'm currently on 107k so might well allow myself a beer.

Nicely done Worthy. You all for and well again now? Fancy some planking next month?!Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 10:24 amI'd set as my target to waddle round 100k in March, I'm currently on 107k so might well allow myself a beer.
I plodded round another 3 miles this morning so that’s definitely deserving of several creme eggs.

Well done worthy! I did some hill sprints on weds night, then a... negative split ( ) last night of 40mins total.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 10:24 amI'd set as my target to waddle round 100k in March, I'm currently on 107k so might well allow myself a beer.
Absolutely cream crackers today. 5 a side restarts next Tuesday in 21° heat. And 11 a side shortly after. I may...not be ready.

Reet nuisance that is. Medical advice is rest, but j just ran through it along with rolling it on a tennis ball and ice. Got used to it and one day realised it was gone and I hadn't noticed. Different if it hurts enough to make you limp though.Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 11:35 pmCouple of days to catch up on but did a 10k time trial tonight.

Did yesterday’s last night before bed. Sit ups easy enough, 85 squats a bit more challenging but 70 crunches?! Who’s stupid idea was it to do this?

Skipped yesterday and catching up today. Is that how many I have to do? Shit! Should I get it out of the way now, or do it now whilst still in my running gear? Just back from a 5k with Bruce.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 8:06 amDid yesterday’s last night before bed. Sit ups easy enough, 85 squats a bit more challenging but 70 crunches?! Do it now! Having averaged over 20k steps each day the last twos weeks Monday - Friday, I fully intend to spend this weekend sitting on my arse as much as possible!Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 10:07 amSkipped yesterday and catching up today. Done it! Squats were hard enough, but bloody hell. Those crunches!
Resisted the urge to go out for baguette and cheese. Boring toast and coffee instead.
Did you do enough steps?

She spends hours in the kitchen (probably so she doesn’t have to speak to me) regardless of whether it’s a 3 course meal or beans on toast for tea. Doesn’t help that I now make her walk home 2.5 miles each weekday evening!

4 runs in 8 days (average 2.3 miles) , hip still creaking like the suspension on my 18 year old Punto, but less than last week.
