Highlight of Season
Had some great moments...
- Sarcevic equaliser at Barrow
- Delaney last minute winner at Cheltenham, with the celebrating fan(s).
- Salford at home and Gary Nevilles glum mug
- Carlisle comeback
- King Arthur’s Mansfield winner
- Miller time at Southend (thanks keeps)
- Clicking football wise at Oldham and at home to Cambridge.
- Showing grit at Salford.
- Putting Morecambe in their place.
- Final whistle on Saturday!

Re: Highlight of Season
Yeah. We saved our best performance by a country mile for the last game. So definitely that.
Other ones as you’ve noted. Perhaps it’s not being there but I’d not say much will stick in the memory long term for me. But I hope we go on and make many more lasting memories with fans there watching live.

Saturday aside I think Mansfield was the one for me. Knew it was on then.

Re: Highlight of Season
One thing I recognised reading your list was that the season has provided us with so many highlights the lowlights from the early stages (Crellin's poppadom wrists, Greenidge's foul throws, etc.) feel like aeons ago.
For me, I think the highlight probably also has to be the comeback at Mansfield. The ludicrously early kick-off time meant I didn't watch a second of it live, but I genuinely remember thinking just after we scored our first goal that we had it in us to go on and win it. I appreciate it's easy to claim that after the fact, however I really did feel it. It was also the first time I had a proper inkling that we might've turned a corner.

Re: Highlight of Season
Another reason for picking the Mansfield comeback is Nigel Clough's sour grapes at full-time.

Re: Highlight of Season
Saturday easily the biggest highlight for me but Mansfield and Morecambe away also had me leaping around in front of the laptop like a madman.

Re: Highlight of Season
I'd forgotten about that. Yeah we looked like a team coping well with a potential cup upset in that game. Streets ahead of a team who finished second.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 9:08 pmThat Cambridge performance had me grinning until my face hurt. Evattball in excelsis.

Re: Highlight of Season
Been a bit strange as it's probably the only season I'll ever see every match (bar 1), so normally you might pick a couple of highlights. Think you've got most of them, but a couple not directly related to the football:
Seeing the players celebrate on Saturday from various clips.
Seeing Shazza leaving Morecambe
Watching other teams results later on when we weren't playing (they went remarkably "for" us, it felt like)
Feeling like we've progressed as a Club, from the brink of not having a Club, for the first time in a long time, including the Parky feats which always had Anderson"s black cloud hovering.

Re: Highlight of Season
Bar Saturday, the Mansfield win was probably my highlight, comebacks like that are few and far between in football and Arthur completed it in style with a sublime finish. That’s when I really thought “oh we might really have a chance of going up”
Carrying on from Worthy’s non-footballing moments above - at the end of the Crawley game the Sky cameras showed Ian Evatt and Sharon Brittan embracing and you could just tell it was a very ‘real’ moment between two people who have a lot of respect for each other and share the same vision for the club. God bless Sharon for giving IE the time a lot of other owners wouldn’t have and her patience was duly rewarded.

Re: Highlight of Season
Saturday for me by some distance, and Morecambe away the scenes before & after the game with the team & Bolton fans was great to see.
Re: Highlight of Season
Gonna say the highlight was Morcambe as everyone was dreading the fact Declan John was out then Ben Jackson put us all at ease with a really good performance and goal which gave us the 4 point gap required to keep us out the playoffs.
