Delaney's agent is kicking off on Twitter and accusing Evatt of breaking his word. So that's nice.

Cambridge confirm Lloyd Jones signing. Next!
Farewell to Delaney, good pro but we move on. Think that means there’s only Crawford (and kids) left from pre-Evatt.

Only way Delaney saved Evatt’s job is by getting suspended....

That's the one. Delaney needs to get himself a more professional rep.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 5:11 pmThis lad?

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Sharron had got Guardiola to agree terms, but Delaney threatened to go on strike if she didn't give Evatt another chance. It was all very tense.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
I assume he means the last minute Cheltenham winner but DSB's suggestion is truer.

Given our chairwoman is on record as saying she never once even considered Evatts position and given I think she’s as honest as any owner we’ve had then I’d say it’s an agent who knows he’s overplayed his hand and now regrets doing so.

Is that the same Stephen Hunt famed for fracturing Cech's skull (and absolutely nothing else)?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 5:13 pm

Appears to be. Seemed a bit of a prick when he was playing, so not that surprising.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 6:57 pmIs that the same Stephen Hunt famed for fracturing Cech's skull (and absolutely nothing else)?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 5:13 pm

Shame because Delaney seems like a good lad.

Probably a case of:GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 4:56 pmDelaney's agent is kicking off on Twitter and accusing Evatt of breaking his word. So that's nice.
'If you help get us promoted i'll be looking at getting you a new contract'
When in reality Delaney was not as influential as neither he nor Evatt was expecting. I'm not surprised that Delaney's gone but I don't wish him ill either, he was certainly capable for the most part and is likely to be a little unlucky to be missing out next season. I'm sure he'll get a contract elsewhere.

His Twitter profile pic is Delaney. Has he only got one client ?The_Gun wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 7:28 pmAppears to be. Honestly, it looks like the kind of thing an agent does when he's drunk after not getting a pay day.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Sorry, I'm not having this Delaney is a decent player. He's bobbins. That or extremely inconsistent.
Good riddens if his agent is pulling stunts like that. What's he saying to the lad?
Where do you think he will be off to next?

I’d say decent but inconsistent or error prone for sure. I doubt he’s going to be a huge miss for us.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Depends what you mean by "decent." I'm not sure Delaney is a worse "hoof it" centre back than Tutte is a "tidy" midfielder. They're both league players, but very much in the "okay in League Two" mould. In the same way that I am happy to see Tutte get another year as a steady lad who can cover in a crisis, I'd be the same if Delaney had stayed. The difference being Delaney didn't suit the Evatt style of play and Tutte does.

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
I’d say typical of traditional centre backs at this level. He’ll get a league two or bottom half league one deal for two years. We won’t get anyone much better as fourth choice centre half I reckon. We may of course sign a better centre half but would suspect that would be to replace Baptiste.
