A chance of a Wanderers win immediately diminishes!

Re: Tickets
Don’t get your expectations up
Like most of Lincoln, best thing about it is the view of the cathedral
Re: Tickets
I agree. Nearly moved there 10 years ago but changed my mind after I got to know it.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 12:15 amDon’t get your expectations up

Do enjoy ticking off a new ground though, it's the geek in me. Would enjoy 3 points as well. Or 1 to be honest.

Re: Tickets
Oh, agreed - always good to get a new ground. Or an older ground I haven’t seen since the Taylor Report. Lincoln’s not the most boring ground, but it’s not the most interesting either.

JCL!!! Went in February 85, about a dozen of us piled into the back of a rented Transit from Jackson's in Darcy Lever.
We lost 2-0, however, the highlight of the day remains having seen Tony Caldwell absolutely clatter Neil 'I'd rather go on the dole than play for Bolton' Redfearn right in front of us and call him a "tvvat"

Re: Tickets
I can't get to this, but I used to live around there. As DSB says, Wimbledon (District line/overground/tram) is closest; no more than a 20(ish) minute walk. South Wimbledon (Northern line) tube is a similar walk. If you're driving, then aim for South Wimbledon and park up around Merton High St and walk to the ground. You can get a decent pint at the By The Horns taproom, but no idea how busy it is on a match day "By The Horns Brewing Co. – All beer no bull" https://bythehorns.co.uk.

Too me ages to work out what song you are on about, despite having a Wombles LP in my collection.

Re: Tickets
On a slightly related note, I've had a Wandering earworm since the other night. Me and the band were bazzing through a cover of I Predict a Riot and I suddenly realised quite how perfectly the title/chorus fits the metre of "Dapo Afolayan" - even rhymes with it, sort of. Coupled with the fact it reminds of one of my favourite terrace adaptations - City fans singing "Sven should pick Darius" - I've thought of little else since....

Ha! Reminds me of John McGinlay in the chorus of 'It's My Life' by Dr Alban.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 11:37 amOn a slightly related note, I've had a Wandering earworm since the other night. Re: Tickets
That reminds me of when I was down at The Hawthorns once and this drunken bum (no, no, not me; a different one) was trying to get, to the tune of Willie Morgan on the wing, "We've got Radhi,Radhi,Radhi,Radhi Jaidi at the back, at the back" going. Completely undeterred by the evident setback of 'Ja-I-di' containing one more syllable than 'Mor-gan', he was getting increasingly frustrated with his fellow supporters for their refusal to join in, culminating in him loudly enquiring "What's the fecking matter with you, you c*nts?" Waaaay
