We are playing decent teams here and seeing the folly of how we setup being too reliant on fine margins at one end. We simply need to be better defensively and if we stopped conceding soft first goals we’d make these teams come out and play more and more. Teams know we lack resilience and they bide their time they are bound to get chances. Just need a tweak to find a bit more solidity.

This is a step up for us against the big boys of L1 and its a struggle. We are still in it. Up Front Doyle doing well working his shirt off. Sheehan and Sarc struggling. MJ doing well. Johnston outstanding at the back. Gordon the opposite. Isgrove, Sarc and Sheehan need to get into gear if we are to come back and get something.

From all I've seen this season, and from comments on the first half today, it's very much about fine margins. And that's alright for me. We're always looking dangerous going forwards, and we're not a million miles away at the back. Need to be a little stronger and a little more clinical, and then we'll be a real force in this league and beyond.
I'd be more worried if we were being hammered every week and not creating any chances.

This play at the back is slow and Sunderland are all over it. The press is good by them. Something we are lacking. The game has had to be played long far too often.

Santos ffs. Wake up.
His legs are disconnected from his brain.

How many passes are we going to gift possession with?
Unacceptable.

Oh ok, we'll just forget the basics then.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:22 pmWe are away at Sunderland. They’ve spent fortunes. And been top end of this league a while. Perhaps they are just a bit of a better team than we were? Like Rotherham.

I’m also going to reiterate. Our best player by a mile is MJ Williams. Looks class as we’ve stepped up against better teams whereas others are showing maybe why they are playing at Bolton.

Although it still depresses me to have to agree with the fact that we are describing teams like Rotherham as better than us.....

I just watched Man City make Chelsea look like chumps with a very aggressive high press. It happens. Sunderland are just better than we are.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:25 pmOh ok, we'll just forget the basics then.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:22 pmWe are away at Sunderland. I'm not watching so would have to defer to others who are, but often those basic mistakes are just a result of the opposition running us ragged. Fatigue sets in, concentration drops, etc.

Rotherham were championship last season. It’s sad but true they are a few years ahead of us. We aren’t getting anything today but it’s probably evening out our start which maybe flattered us results wise. We are a great side to watch and mid table was for me always our likely outcome this season.dave the minion wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:25 pmThis 100%.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:22 pmWe are away at Sunderland.
