Re: Sarcevic
Well here seems as good a place as any to leave this;
Whatever's happened, thanks for the memories Antoni. He's been a great player in his short time for us. His last goal for the club, that absolute worldy at home to Shrewsbury, showed what he was capable of.
Good luck!

Re: Sarcevic
Seconded. He captained this club superbly through a challenging time and was pivotal to our promotion.
He leaves as easily one of the better players we had at the club, only maybe 2 or 3 max I’d list as more critical to our team.
It’s a massive shame that he couldn’t see this season out and get a proper send off. Best of luck to him.

This, 100%. If you'd asked me on Wednesday I'd have said he was right up there with my favourites of recent times.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 6:00 pmI’m waiting for the full story before passing on well wishes.
But. But but but. The manager is in charge. If there's a confrontation that can't be fixed I'm backing the manager 99% of the time, and the 1% he should be sacked (and I think if he deserved it Sharon would've sacked him). Sarce was paid to play. If he's not happy with managerial decisions, he needed to buckle up and accept it. He's not in charge. He didn't want to, so I'm very strongly leaving towards he can get fecked.

Re: Sarcevic
It’s equally as feasible that Evatt has had a meltdown over something and forced him out. Or that Sarce has done something the owners didn’t like. It’s all speculation and I’m not sure such an odd situation is going to ever be dissected.Prufrock wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 1:15 amThis, 100%. All we know is that Sarce and BWFC both come out of this in worse positions. He is in non league and the club has lost its captain and first choice midfield player.
I guess now it’s done and we just move on as ever in football.

I don’t think Marc knows anymore than we do - I agree with his hypothesis. I don’t think Sarce was getting a new contract and that’s one of the root causes.

Re: Sarcevic
The thing I'm finding strange is the immediacy of it. There probably aren't many new scenarios, and they don't generally result in ta ra so quickly. I mean something so huge that it couldn't wait until January? It just feels a bit bizarre.Prufrock wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 1:15 amThis, 100%. Re: Sarcevic
That was my thought too, the contract thing. Because the 2.5 year contract at Edgely Park seemed to have been "oven ready"...and the "brutal" comment on Sarce's Twit.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:27 amI don’t think Marc knows anymore than we do - I agree with his hypothesis. Re: Sarcevic
I think Marc knows more than he can say. Does more talking to insiders than the rest of us combined. I don’t doubt the speed of events took him by surprise as much as everybody else - including Evatt and Sarce, I’d say - but that piece has a very interesting undertone of “was going to happen sooner or later”. As you say, the contract, which Sarce had mentioned a month ago, appears to have been a big bone of contention and I dare say Stockport had already thrown their famous, expensive hat in the ring.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:27 amI don’t think Marc knows anymore than we do - I agree with his hypothesis. Re: Sarcevic
All players are going to move on eventually. The question is what expedited the move in October when he’s first choice and captain of a league one side? It’s obvious the Stockport deal was something he had in mind should no offer come from us. Because as you say it was ready to go. But still. Iles himself is saying something has happened and club are playing down suggestions it was a row over non selection at Plymouth.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:37 amI think Marc knows more than he can say. He came on as a first half sub today in a 2-1 defeat at Notts County. "Pretty anonymous" according to my Notts mate.

Pretty anonymous, like seeing your career out in non league football.
