Given further misses on Saturday - three points tonight is critical. So second goal a huge boost. Game management second half now. If we can manage the game we can get Amaechi some minutes as he might be starting Saturday.

Really a red? See those loads and rarely see player sent off.
Yes really. You can get away with it if theres a chance of getting to the ball. He had no chance of getting the ball there and has just gone out of his way to deliberately take the man.
You see loads of those week in week out. Yellow card. Wasn’t two footed or high. Was cynical in the extreme. But I’d say red for that you could send loads off every week. Not complaining though.
I'll get a replay of it at half time and put the video up.

If he'd caught him closer he's doing damage to him. Had it happened there would be uproar on here.
I'd be interested to see the video but I'm with BWFCi here. Ignore the "if", cos it didn't happen. Most fouls like that (cynical but miles from goal) I've seen recently have been yellows. There's even an ongoing discussion about it on Rory Smith's newsletter - best idea being that if it's a cynical foul of that kind, the fouled team gets to take a free kick from wherever it wants (ie Beckham territory - not that it matters to us...)

Not two-footed but I stick with the if he'd been a little closer we're potentially looking at another injury.

We've had 0 shots on target but the summariser sees us winning by 2 or 3?

What planet is he on?

Seeing it live I thought yellow, but that's a red.

He’s gone studs up to be fair. We’re lucky he’s not another injury. Gutted about Lloyd - he was our hardest worker by some distance first 25 minutes.

Gordon’s done well but he’s got so much space down there, doncasters left back is shite.

Yes, I thought similar. A four point return from these two fixtures, in the context of everything that's happened recently, would be a very decent return.

They haven't given us any particular cause for concern so we just need to keep it sensible and see the second half out.

I had it worked out. Play like plonkers (but don't let em score) then second half play like Brazil...and then we spoiled it all by scoring, not one but two. Now w're really in bother. They'll want to beat Brazil... :(

They nearly scored twice before we did to be fair.

Love Santos reaction to the tackle, just what you want from your captain
I actually thought it was a pretty poor reaction from Santos and not what you really want from your captain. He could have easily been sent off if his hands get a fraction closer to Dodoo's face/neck.

Anyway 2-0 up, get in! :pissed:

Still looks more like a trip than violent conduct, which it'd have to be for red (there).

Anyway. Nice to have that to "discuss" rather than how many babies to throw out with the bathwater. Good end to the half. Nowt silly now. Maybe even retain some energy by stroking it about. And I like BWFCi's idea - get Amaechi on to run at them. Possibly Delf too because he's arguably a more likely Dapo replacement.

And if we're two or more clear with 15 left, rest Doyler for Henry and let him run at them. Lad's like Billy Whizz.

I think santos knew what he was doing…just about kept the hands down. Reaction made the refs mind up.

Yeah it probably was only a yellow, but a hard yellow. Ah well, we needed a break.

Agree on some but we lack passion desire and just to soft at times need to get in other teams faces at times

I like the reaction. About time we had some 'bite' in this team. I'm not talking about us becoming dirty just let's stop being soft.
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Still on the that’s a yellow card brigade. Not complaining at all. It was a cynical nasty challenge. But it’s just trying to bring a player down it’s not violent intent or whatever that would tip it to a red or denying a run on goal etc….
