Look at the size of that centreback's arse. Doyle is easily half a cheek onside.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 12:55 pmHe's certainly correct they should probably have been at least one to the good. When you "still" the Doyle goal and draw pretty lines across it, it's a really close call (not saying my line drawing is good enough to declare a "winner"Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 10:25 amDonny boss Richie Wellens thinks they should have been 3-0 up before we scored (and Doyle was offside).

I see Simon Grayson (Fleetwood) has been potted this morning. We’ve got them twice in a week starting next Tuesday. Interesting.

I wonder how much of a phoney war the first (Sherpa Sh!tshow) game will be. Obviously we haven't got many deckchairs to shuffle but the league game is possibly our best chance of three precious points this side of chucking the fir trees onto the pavements.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 12:59 pmI see Simon Grayson (Fleetwood) has been potted this morning. I’d hope we can look at 3 v Morecambe as well, but then again I had us losing every game till the window Saturday night!
I think Mr Evatt fancies a run at Wembley in the pizza trophy…we haven’t many options anyway but I think he’ll go for that. Dapo will be back for a start. The league games the interesting one - like you I looked at that and fancied us (before the weekend).

Thought Evatt had a little dig at the atmosphere last night in his post match:
"That's back to back home wins."
"Oh, really? You wouldn't have thought so, would you?"
It did feel weird in there. We were 3 up with about 10 to go and you could have heard a pin drop.
Kachunga also said something about needing energy from the crowd.

Bitter experience teaches us that it's pure folly to start blowing the collective trumpet, simply by dint of us being three up with ten to go.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 3:55 pm

Depending on context, I wouldn't necessarily think that's a dig at the crowd last night as much as the misery-merchants, perhaps?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 3:55 pmThought Evatt had a little dig at the atmosphere last night in his post match:

I too read it thinking it was more in reference to this.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 4:46 pmDepending on context, I wouldn't necessarily think that's a dig at the crowd last night as much as the misery-merchants, perhaps?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 3:55 pmThought Evatt had a little dig at the atmosphere last night in his post match:

Aye coz he also said something akin to "we've had huge criticism recently. Some of it just and some of it not just"brommers95 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 5:09 pmI too read it thinking it was more in reference to this.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 4:46 pmDepending on context, I wouldn't necessarily think that's a dig at the crowd last night as much as the misery-merchants, perhaps?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 3:55 pmThought Evatt had a little dig at the atmosphere last night in his post match:

We did manage to take one of the worst corners I’ve ever seen last night. Better?

Indeed. It'll be a nice alternative to 'get-it-to-Afolayan-at-all-costs'. Now, I guess this is more one for the Cheltenham match thread, but without Afolayan and Isgrove, what will our policy be? Wing backs and a three? I don't think we have either the relevant players nor the requisite ability to carry that off.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 9:59 amI'm not advocating we become a team that habitually "bangs it in behind" but doing so a couple of times usually makes defenders drop deep, giving you more space to play. And if the lad collects the ball and whacks it in the onion bag, we'd accept that, right?

My guess is Kachunga, Doyle and Delfouneso will start in a front three with Johnston, Lee and Thomason as the three behind them in midfield.

We can't expect too much from him yet, but "get-it-to-Amaechi-at-all-costs" looks like it might be viable in the near future.
Does anyone know if we got an extension agreed on his loan? I know Iles said we were asking.

Donny's red card decision upheld. 3 game ban.

Good good. Weakens them and makes them more likely to finish below us. I thought it’d be rescinded but I’d rather be happy than right.
Re: Exchanging Corn...V Doncaster at home, 23/11/21 8 'O clock.
I think most refs wouldn't have given red but it'd have to be a clear error to be rescinded so was always likely to stand I think.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 10:43 amGood good. Yeah, fair enough - it was arguable, as we proved!LeverEnd wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 1:08 pmI think most refs wouldn't have given red but it'd have to be a clear error to be rescinded so was always likely to stand I think.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 10:43 amGood good. Oh cheers. 'Wanderers (and Doncaster) charged with failing to control their players by the FA'.
So that'll be a fine in the offing. Great.
