East London triathletes, and have officially renewed for the season so committed now. Seem like a nice bunch. Think I'll go to the swim session on Thursday and kick the dust off the tires. 9pm-10pm! At least I'll sleep reet.

Same here. Started the year full of plans to run and here we are on day 4, just as apathetic as I was for most of 2021. 2020 as well for that matter. I’ll try to force myself out after work tomorrow.

Re: The athletics/running thread
I decided to run through my lingering injury as if it wasn't there, made it worse and have now knocked it on the head for a while. I'm slightly relieved to have an excuse.

Re: The athletics/running thread
So far this week I've cycled 26.2 miles (indoors) and done a 10 mile run.
This is after realizing I've gained nearly a stone in weight since I did Ironman. Most of that over Christmas.
Not great but I'll get rid.

Eventful first run in 74 days. Curtailed at 3.5k after clipping a flag on a downhill stretch in the dark. Fortunately, just a bruised elbow and sore neck to show for it and NO broken teeth! Anyone for post Parkrun breakfast this weekend? I might just be stupid enough to give both a go! Then again, I might only have time for the food.

Tell me about it! The commando role I did probably saved the money maker!
On the plus side, there weren’t hundreds of people lining both sides of the road this time!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Five straight days of training or recovery sessions. Not been able to do that in a while! 45 minute plod later with the club before a rest day on Friday. Still not confident on the longer ones. Managed 80 mins on Sunday which was the aim, but was quite uncomfortable by the end. However felt like a big hurdle to get over that, and it's felt a lot better this week doing less impact-related stuff (spin class, x-trainer, and one run) and basic strength training. I'm hopeful I'll feel more confident on it this weekend.
