I'd have thought he'd be a keeper!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 12:37 pmHad a quick look for lapsing (5ft 11+) striker contracts in the Champo and there's not a lot we don't already know about.
What I did notice this time is Tyreece John-Jules (Blackpool, loaned from Arsenal) - hasn't been in the matchday squad since October (and Blackpool have just signed Jake Beesley) so Arsenal have been considering whether to recall him. Decent impact at third-tier Donny last season - 5 goals and 3 assists in just 235 minutes (over 18 appearances) is a goal involvement every 29 minutes. Strong and quick, can shoot with either foot. Tango will remember his uncle Danny from Strictly 2018 (I remember him from Red Dwarf).
I imagine we have backup targets beyond Bod but I'm starting to wonder if attack-bolstering might be back to borrowing promising youngsters again.

Just realised he's an exact contemporary of Amaechi; they spent six years together in Arsenal's youth sides. in summer 2019 when Xav moved abroad for football, TJJ stayed and signed a contract - the length of which the club hasn't revealed; some say it lasts five years, which would be a hell of a commitment for an 18-year-old.
Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
I don’t know if he’s been mentioned on here before, but Kabongo Tshimanga is averaging a goal a game in the National League for Evatt’s old side Chesterfield. 24 years old and apparently quick and powerful, so would seem a likely target, however, he is contracted to 2024 and apparently Hearts are sniffing around.

We turned him down in the summer over his wage demands, didn't we?The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 1:37 pmI don’t know if he’s been mentioned on here before, but Kabongo Tshimanga is averaging a goal a game in the National League for Evatt’s old side Chesterfield. 24 years old and apparently quick and powerful, so would seem a likely target, however, he is contracted to 2024 and apparently Hearts are sniffing around.

Oh, didn't hear that, but I suppose that makes him less likely then.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:05 pmWe turned him down in the summer over his wage demands, didn't we?The_Gun wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 1:37 pmI don’t know if he’s been mentioned on here before, but Kabongo Tshimanga is averaging a goal a game in the National League for Evatt’s old side Chesterfield. 24 years old and apparently quick and powerful, so would seem a likely target, however, he is contracted to 2024 and apparently Hearts are sniffing around.

Tyreece John-Jules would be very welcome. Bags of ability, lovely hold-up play, good pace and would be a potential permanent transfer in the future, you'd imagine. Could make a lot of money on him.

Yes. Their front three for a while was typically Saka, TJJ and Xav. Fun side.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 12:57 pmJust realised he's an exact contemporary of Amaechi

Sad to see him go but wish him all the best. For me, he was the most promising player we've developed in some time but injury and contract issues means this is probably the best outcome for both parties.

Aye fair play to the lad. Right decision, suspect he thought he would come back from injury and be a starter, then had his head turned once out on loan. Can’t blame us for getting some cash or him for looking to a seria A/B club.

His stats are completely underwhelming. Eight starts eight times subbed off. Zero goals very few goal attempts.
Should fit right in.

His 20/21 stats when he was in L1 with Doncaster are pretty good though as DSB noted earlier. 5 goals and 3 assists in 1,174 minutes of football.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:13 pmHis stats are completely underwhelming. Questions over his work ethic though, not sure he’s an Evatt player tbh.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread
The palpable loathing from Blackpool fans probably indicates he didn't have the best time there
No idea what he's been like for them and unlikely we are even interested, but I seem to recall Dapo had his work rate questioned by (I think) Oldham fans. Loans can be weird.

Almost impossible to tell from a few stats without seeing them play. Especially young players.
