We won't be bricking it against Accrington...At home Monday 18th April 3-0'clock
At least we hope not. Just a play on words. Early thread start as I won't have much time tomorrow as it's a family day. Known for producing hard bricks and being in Bronte country, Accrington are a genuine Lancashire club that can't threaten us points wise, only pride wise. We need to keep the momentum going with only three games left.Will Charles come back and end the season with a bang, will Baka be goal hungry or can Dad Bod dazzle? Answers on a postcard and an internet pint of Ramsdens Stone Trough Ale (at least it was when I lived up there) for the best entry. Over to you...

Haven't checked fully but I suspect this could be the game that mathematically confirms a top-half finish.

We owe this lot a stuffing. Remind the players of that please.

On paper we should have more ability to rotate and cover for fatigue than Accy. Plus the Charles thing.
I'm looking forward to having a proper look at Colby Bishop and Matt Butcher, both of whom we've been "nudge nudge wink wink" linked to. Hopefully I leave the game listening to our fans slag them both off and we batter them, but if they play well it'll still be interesting.

Butcher’s a midfielder, so that would leave us tight for spaces. Also been consistently linked with a freebie move to his boyhood heroes Pompey. But much stranger things have happened.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 9:43 pmOn paper we should have more ability to rotate and cover for fatigue than Accy. Plus the Charles thing.

We are very tight on space in the middle, yeah.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 12:50 amButcher’s a midfielder, so that would leave us tight for spaces. Also been consistently linked with a freebie move to his boyhood heroes Pompey. But much stranger things have happened.
I guess it depends on what Evatt thinks he has. I don't think we've seen a midfield yet that can dominate the best this division has to offer. If Evatt thinks that is solved by Dempsey and Sheehan coming back in over the summer that's that.
This is probably more of a chat for another thread.

Right then, ladies and most gents. It's matchday.
Obviously we're going to win today (It's only Accy, who are they?), but by how much? I'll take a nice, calm 3-0. What's on everyone else's coupon for the day?

4-2 for us. A brace for Dion.

I reckon much will depend on how satisfied the Brick boys are with where they stand. Are they going to go gung-ho at us or just take it all easy? I've already made the point nobody below us can do us any harm, but it'll be nice to add to our points tally from Cheltenham and Fleetwood (not taking either for granted mind) . If beating Bolton Wanderers is an issue, then we may get a tough afternoon. Either way, it's up to us to adopt a win attitude and not go on early vacation... So COME ON YOU WHITES, get in there and do the job...!!!!

When was the last time we played well on the club's designated Family / Community day?

I'm guessing that's 433ish..and we're not planning on "headers"

Depends how you define the midfield 3 - feels more 4-2-3-1 to me. I only see two central midfielders but/and there's three "support strikers" behind Dion who could switch around a lot.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 2:22 pmI'm guessing that's 433ish..and we're not planning on "headers"
Trafford;
Jones, Aimson, Johnston, John;
MJ, Morley;
Amaechi, Kachunga, Dapo;
Charles
On the 'headers' - guess the big lads both started at Donny so they start this one on the bench. Interesting to see how we deal without a real out-ball (unless we knock it over the top for Dion to chase).

Yeah, that was the "ish" 4231... I broadly only do 442 and 433
Re: We won't be bricking it against Accrington...At home Monday 18th April 3-0'clock
I think that's really positive XI, and expect us to be sharp and a threat. But I make two six footers plus Trafford. I hope we not talking set pieces again afterwards!
