Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Haaland has a history of injuries so it’s obviously a terrible signing…..

And so it might prove.

They got him for a knock-down price compared to Grealish and they've showed they're not bad without a "centre forward". What was Mbappe? 180m?

Small change squad filler.... ;-)

And exactly why I like to see the likes of City and Chelsea fail miserably.

He has the kind of injuries you'd expect from a young, heavy sprinter; but yeah it's something City will be aware of and they have already signed a player who can compete with him and cover for injuries.

Kane, on the other hand, wasn't worth the money - in part due to his injury profile and age.

Kane has had to have surgery to repair hamstring and ankle injuries. Haaland has strains. There's a difference to the risk there.

The alternative is seeing Man Utd and Liverpool win stuff.

I see these as a necessary evil.

 I'm not quite as averse to Liverpool as it shuts the other lot up :-)

100% this. United, enough said. Liverpool, the absolute worst for fans who think supporting their team is somehow a moral act.

Could I just say on the Liverpool v United bit....If Liverpool were to do a treble, like United's, they'd equal the buggers on titles, be further ahead on CL wins and it would be a whole lot quieter where I live even if it got more noisy 35 miles away... That is all.

It’s a massive topic that encompasses way more than just football. And to be honest of course it’s absolutely horrid. But so are the Liverpool and Man Utd’s of this world who pretend their growth was ‘purely organic’ mainly because it happened years ago and at critical points. Both are foreign owned and have absolutely ripped the piss for years. But they claim moral superiority which annoys me more than the blatant nu money at City and Chelsea.

But yeah. Very complex. City’s owners are about as bad as you can get so if we look beyond football and fans then it’s a sorry state of affairs all round.

Tonight's North London Derby should be a cracker. Contrasting styles of play. Both teams going for the same target. The traditional rivalry.

After yesterday's incredible individual showing from KDB this *should* be a much more evenly-matched spectacle.

F.A.CUP FINAL, prejudices apart, was a cracking game of football. I suppose (purely impartially except Liverpool is a northern club (and my wife is a born Scouser) it was a right result but a very even game with both sides having good spells. Man of the match for me was Marcos Alonso; he ruled Chelsea's left side and never stopped running. Good entertaining game.

I can still remember a lot of Bolton fans saying Alonso wasn't good enough to play in the Championship.

I remember him having an absolutely dreadful game down at Fulham - one so poor it sticks in the memory. What was the Irish lad called who they signed from Blackburn? Ran him ragged.

And that one's not the only one.

Not sure I ever said he wasn't good enough for Division 2, however, I'm absolutely delighted for him. The way he's stuck at it and developed as a player is to his immense credit.

Pitch invasions for winning a play off semi. Embarrassing. One set of fans is going to look the nice person.

Damien Duff ⬆️
3-0 down either by half time or very early second half…earliest I’ve left a game, was supping in northern quarter by about ten past five

Flares and pitch invasions are the thing these days, unfortunately. All the dickheads want to be ultras.

Looks like a Forest fan ran on and butted Billy Sharp. Not good. Looks a nasty one.

Hope they catch the bloke and lock him up, outrageous. Hope Huddersfield do them in the final an all, scabby last min penalty or summat. Absolute disgrace - and Huddersfield fans were dickheads on Monday as well!
