All fair. We have a degree of stability that the other top sides at this level lack. If Sheff Weds or Ipswich get off to a poor start then there's every chance they will bin their managers, which adds pressure to an already pressurised professional environment.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 7:14 amYou will have teams doing this every year. Ipswich were the ones signing all these top players last season. Sometimes it doesn’t work out.
I think you can list our four strikers and no team has four as good.
I do think there is work to do behind them and wouldn’t disagree that we are still two or three players of real quality short of the top 2 or having a chance of it.
Top six though I think we can challenge for with another centre half or midfield player who can do the defensive stuff through the door to stiffen us up a bit.
All my comments on this window are based on the idea that we want to win the league.
I really like our squad - both in terms of ability and character; but at the minute we are well off title winners - purely due to having fewer "too good for the division" players than key rivals. I agree we can compete for a play offs spot, but I think we still look like a side that will lose more than they win against the top sides.

How many "too good for the division" players do we think we have currently?
Rico, Dad Bod, Dapo?

Might be why a few clubs have gone down the route of providing their own service. If you could get £100 p.a. Membership plus a tenner a game and it was essentially clubs YouTube + I follow + youth/b games might be worth a few bob?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:28 pmI don't think the club can add or take away anything on the iFollow without League Approval. Do any other clubs have reserve games on their iFollow?officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:11 pmThey could easily bang them on the clubs iFollow channel - Leeds for example you get the academy matches included with an annual LUTV subscription.

Which reminds me - wasn't there talk of making iFollow usable in the UK for the Saturday 3pm games?officer_dibble wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 8:29 amMight be why a few clubs have gone down the route of providing their own service. Interesting choice of words. He doesn't say that it didn't work out for us, but rather didn't work out for him.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 4:15 pmEvatt on Fossey:

It wasn’t meant to be, but I believe nothing you are destined for will ever pass you by. It hasn’t worked out for Marlon this summer but I honestly wish him good luck and I hope he does well.
From our perspective, though, I am happy to be signing Conor and I am sure the supporters will see very quickly what an excellent player he is. As much as Marlon became an iconic figure in our squad, I do believe Conor will do the same. We move on, things move on in football.

Good to see Kyle Dempsey fit and raring to go. If he stays fit that's another plus.

I picked up on that myself but wasn't sure if he'd just misspoken.
It does seem strange that he hasn't signed elsewhere yet, though I don't know what stage he's at with his injury recovery.

Hope it doesn't turn out to be a " Wish I'd never left Bolton" scenario.

Peter Kioso joins Rotherham.
That makes a lot of sense.

Marlon is going to Wigan, isn't he.
I did say he was the new Antonee Robinson when after his debut...

Marlon might be in the unenviable position of going to Wigan IFF Wigan can't do any better. Wouldn't be shocked to see him back in League One at this rate. I actually think he'd be a good fit for Luton, but they are very strategic and he might not fit their current phase.

I appreciate it's not the easiest to read, but here's a summary of all the incoming transfers made in L1 so far this window. In terms of numbers through the door we don't stack up too badly.
If you find yourself panicking thinking we haven't done enough business, spare a thought for the fans of the four teams yet to make a signing.

Looks like Twine is off to Burnley. Big loss for MK, but £4m is massive money at this level and they should have targets lined up.

To be fair, that's exactly how we can expect Evatt to phrase it.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:23 amInteresting choice of words. He doesn't say that it didn't work out for us, but rather didn't work out for him.
