Genuinely interesting that that comes out after Barkhuizen signs for another club.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 12:37 pmIan no wanty striker.

Maybe he never saw Barky as a forward? Maybe wanted him for his versatility and ability to cover wing back a la Sadlier?

It's possible, but given the fact the Iles and others have been certain we wanted a striker in I find it somewhat coincidental.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 1:42 pmMaybe he never saw Barky as a forward? Maybe wanted him for his versatility and ability to cover wing back a la Sadlier?

Barkhuizen has been nailed on for Derby for weeks. It was obviously never happening here after the very early interest we had.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 1:17 pmGenuinely interesting that that comes out after Barkhuizen signs for another club.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 12:37 pmIan no wanty striker.

So it’s not news to Evatt. Perhaps the targets up there he had aren’t coming off and he feels no point wasting money on one he doesn’t want.

Barky to Derby wasn't nailed on until the takeover happened. So in that sense it very much is news to everyone. We all knew it would happen if that deal got done, but with all the issues they've had we will still have been hanging on.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 5:08 pmBarkhuizen has been nailed on for Derby for weeks. I agree with the second part. We have Kachunga, Dad Bod, Charles and Baka. It was worth disrupting that for a player who would be special at this level, but not for any less.

Callum Camps signed for Stockport. I fear our ex skipper may have a falling out over lack of game time again!

Bolton Wanderers have made a move for Derry City captain Eoin Toal.
The League One team are the latest side from that level to turn their attentions to the League of Ireland market after MK Dons (Darragh Burns) and Lincoln (Danny Mandroiu) made successful forays.
It's understood Bolton have lodged a bid for the centre half (23) but there is also interest from elsewhere across the water.
Toal is in his sixth season with the Candystripes, with the defender graduating to become skipper for Ruaidhri Higgins' side.
He has been the subject of speculation about overseas moves at various times in his City stay but Bolton have now made their intentions clear by lodging an offer for a player whose deal is up at the end of the season.

Obviously I know nowt about him, but sounds exactly what we need. Let’s hope we can get it over the line.

Agreed. Seems to tick a lot of boxes and could be that missing piece of the defensive jigsaw. Obviously it's early days but if we are successful in signing him let's hope he's more Santos than Greenidge

Report from Ireland says our bid has been turned down, apparently. Derry are the only team from Northern Ireland to play in the Republic League.(Our man Dion plays for Northern Ireland ) Are Derry City playing hard to get?

I'm pretty confident this deal gets done. Sounds like they don't want to lose him before their Europa League Conference Qualifying games this Thursday and next Thursday.

Bolton delegation going to Ireland this weekend so I’ve read. So sounds like this one is serious.

Me neither, Gun, so I had a search last night and then put his name into Google Images. There's this photo of him gloriously rising above everyone else - I'd sign him on that evidence alone
I'd post in onto here but appear to be unable to, due to me being a bit shit.
May the bridges I burn light your way

After watching some clips of him on Wyscout it does seem he would add some aerial ability in both boxes - he's definitely committed in the air. Doesn't look too bad on the ball either, the main question marks will be over his athleticism.

There is, Oxford signed Luke McNally from St Pats 18 months ago and just sold him to Burnley for 1.5 million or thereabouts.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 7:32 pmBolton delegation going to Ireland this weekend so I’ve read. So sounds like this one is serious.
