As a neutral you'd think we had never played a game together on this showing.

Thomason and Kachunga? Not the subs I was expecting. Come on Dad Bod, you're our only hope!

Been a fair few players who haven't hit the heights of last season in this match.
Positives signs from Charles, Santos and Bradley. Not much to write home about tbh.

I think a report will be going in against this ref. Again there with Jones. How is that a free kick to anyone?

It was always going to be a tough first game. We did fine first half, switched off for a set piece and have been second best and then some this half.
I’d not exactly give them pelters but many of the issues we had last season even during the run in are still more than present here. Lack of pace, lack of a genuine outlet (once Fossey was absent), poor defensively at times, dodgy set pieces both ends.
If I was being critical I’d say we haven’t improved and still are not finding the form we hit February sort of time when we looked a really exciting side.

Trafford potentially salvaged a point there.

I still don’t know why we bought Kachunga on over Sadlier.

A point away at Ipswich is an excellent opener, if we're being honest.
Re: Opening day Blues or all White on the night? Ipswich (A) Saturday 30th July. 3pm KO
Nowhere near. It wouldn't be Bolton in league one if we didn't have a justifiable cause for complaining about the refereeing. Mind you when the head of refereeing is bad then its hardly surprising that there's a trickle down effect to the rest of them.
Foul counter has us around even in terms of fouls.
1-1 is not a bad result but it certainly isn't indicative of a promotion push when we've seemed second best.

Second best there. Happy to come home with a point...

Away at promotion favourites though, so not unexpected.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 5:01 pmNowhere near. Next game will tell us a lot more.
