Obviously 90% of them will fail, it's about whether we can get one or two who can contribute to the first team squad, which would be nice and, being generous to Brocky the second time it's happened other than desperation since...I don't even know. Joey O'Brian? Probably a case Rob Holding would've made it anyway...

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
No indeed. One could make a case for Darcy and Politic but they may be filed under desperation.
Most clubs would, I suspect, be ecstatic to develop a first-teamer every season. Very few manage it. Ghost might know, it's his wheelhouse. And it's worth remembering that our throughput has been savaged from above, and in youth development that can have knock-on effects for a decade. Even if you only spend two seasons failing to recruit, you will have a weakness throughout your demography - so it's not just the 18-year-olds failing to develop within two years: the 10-year-olds you fail to sign in 2015 will be the first-teamers you miss in 2025.
Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
The B team have their final run out of pre-season away at Warrington Town tonight for those who are interested.
Perhaps an opportunity to stake a claim for a bench spot in next week's energy drink cup game? I can see us playing a strong lineup in that match, but probably with some of the usual starters rotated out. Maybe Connor Stanley, Conor Carty or Max Conway are the most likely to sneak onto the bench?

You would hope a fair few B teamers are in the frame for the squad for a week today. And hopefully more will feature in the EFL pizza cup or whatever it is.The_Gun wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 3:05 pmThe B team have their final run out of pre-season away at Warrington Town tonight for those who are interested.

It will be interesting to see how seriously Evatt takes the various cup competitions this season. The league cup is the more respected trophy, of course, but we have a pretty good chance of winning the pizza cup.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 3:53 pmYou would hope a fair few B teamers are in the frame for the squad for a week today. If he wanted to, he could just rotate the first team and start the likes of Dixon, Aimson, Iredale, Toal, Dempsey et al and fill the bench with the lads who usually start. I suspect we'll see one or two B teamers make the bench next Tuesday, but would be surprised if it's more than that.

Lineup for tonight’s B Team friendly v Warrington Town.
Worth noting that account is the new Twitter for the B team and academy.

Nice to see them getting their first goals. Hopefully more to come. Not really got a clear picture of how well they are doing other than their results anyone seen them in action yet?

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
Do they have a fixture list? I'd be inclined to go and watch occasionally if they were playing locally.

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
I think I read something yesterday about the fixture list still being put together. I guess they will have a defined Central League set of fixtures, then will put in friendlies around that schedule on an ad-hoc basis.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 8:35 amDo they have a fixture list? Matty Grivosti joins Yeovil on loan for three months.
Bit weird to be loaning B team players out?

Carty has apparently been brought in to train with the first team a couple of times. Does anyone have any more information about that?

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
I didn’t know that. I knew Connor Stanley had been drafted up on occasion, but not Carty too. Makes sense of course, fluidity of personnel.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 6:21 amCarty has apparently been brought in to train with the first team a couple of times. Papa John’s will give an insight - I’d guessed/hoped Sithole would be nearest given his league one experience but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Stanley is the one the coaches are supposedly very excited about. What I understood was that the lads who were involved in the Cup, Stanley and Carty were the ones who'd had the privilege thus far, but I can't say I know for certain.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 8:58 amI didn’t know that. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who does.
