I see Truss has written in the S*n today that she has "an iron grip on the economy". You've only a tenuous grip on reality love. For the love of God, go now!

She's got that much grip, the Bank of England had to promise £65,000,000,000 of our reserves, just to stop pension funds going bust and stabilize the markets.
The Torygraph posted an article around the highest one week rise in the Pound against the Dollar, from the lowest number it's ever managed to achieve in history to the heady height of the third lowest number it's ever achieved in history. What a remarkable turnaround.
You really couldn't make it up.

We’ve just had last week the record increase in cost of 10 year government borrowing of all time. Depending on which records you use it’s also the record for any G7 country ever too.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 12:29 pmHarry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 11:52 am^ Definitely. The telegraph are shameless. Though in fairness plenty of their writers are even now critical of Truss and the Tory party. It’s the sycophants who arent.

Another developing "pitch" - Benefits shouldn't be linked to inflation, when millions of workers face real terms pay cuts. So, I get the spin - it's tough for everyone - but they're actually pitching "everyone's getting a really shit outcome, so benefits should be a no less shit outcome?"
What a sales pitch.

So "All Pull Together" isn't being adopted as the new Government signature tune then? .

The majority of people on benefits also work. So the pitch could be ‘we are just trying to make your your lives are doubly as shit as they might otherwise have been’.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 11:13 amAnother developing "pitch" - Benefits shouldn't be linked to inflation, when millions of workers face real terms pay cuts. Presumably 42% of the benefits budget will be exempt from that policy, as usual...?

Yep. That’s already confirmed.
If I see Truss answering another question with ‘uncomfortable pause’ *looks like she’s trying to hold a fart in* ‘what we are doing is…….’ I’m going to smash my screen.
I bet she will blow way more than the £65Bn she already has just on media training to try and seem vague,y competent.

Apparently, Truss will be bounding on to the conference stage to a 90s pop classic. My money's not on 'You Only Get What You Give'

Isn't Heather Small's son a Labour MP? He's certainly something to do with them.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 6:28 pmM People don’t seem happy to be associated with this shambles either.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 5:32 pmM People, moving on up? That'll sort the yoof vote out...

Ahh I see there will be no power cuts might mean there possibly will be power cuts.
Thankfully I have two generators bought a good while ago for a project that never took off and an open plan kitchen diner so the gas hob can provide the heating if needed.
Politicians don't lie, that's a joke.
