Then there's this Owl, reacting to the away leg.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:03 amI wonder how much they lost on the Wednesday comeback.
Wondering if that long-suffering girlfriend has chucked him yet. He could hardly cite her as over-reacting.

Barry Bannan had a dig at their lot from the away leg for singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt", which was nice to see.
Hopefully we can have them singing it again when we thump them 4-0 at Wembley.

Expected to see loads of complaints about the added time (8 mins?) and that midnight hour equaliser, but can't seem to. Posh can't complain about the penalties, but to have almost won it, then......

Don't be so stupid, I reckon they'll score. 4-1 will the final score......GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:53 amBarry Bannan had a dig at their lot from the away leg for singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt", which was nice to see.

They don't really wake up until they're 4-0 down. So let's score that one late on.dave the minion wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 11:07 amDon't be so stupid, I reckon they'll score. 4-1 will the final score......GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:53 amBarry Bannan had a dig at their lot from the away leg for singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt", which was nice to see.

Whatever happens this evening, its still been a really enjoyable season.

Still chill. It's still been a successful season regardless. It's going to be an uphill struggle for promotion from here - Barnsley and Wednesday are both objectively better sides at the moment than us, but on our day, as we've proven, we can beat anyone.
I won't be heartbroken if we fall short tonight, nor if we succeed tonight but fall short at Wembley. Let's just show a decent account of ourselves and see what happens.

My kids haven't really seen us fail yet. In terms of their awareness of football and the club we've been on an upward path for their entire stint and every time we've had a hurdle to leap we've cleared it - culminating in winning a cup.
Part of me obviously wants that to continue, but at some stage they have to learn the reality of being a Bolton fan and wallow in misery.
At least if we lose either of the next two it'll be educational for them. Maybe we could royally screw up in the summer and end up in a League One relegation battle like MK Dons. That'd be character building.

In the (highly unlikely ) event of losing tonight (wash your mouth out with vinegar man) we'll howl at the moon, hang draw and quarter the ref, castigate the opposition and take to the boulevards with pitchforks and bedsheets hunting somebody to tar and feather in the time-honoured manner of fans everywhere..
Of course, since we'll win, none of this will be necessary, but that's Plan C.
In the spirit of Super Kev, we'll fight the good fight and triumph...

I'll be cheering on from darkest South Wales tonight.

Careful, mate, they don't speak English down there. (Wife's mothers lot were all Welsh, wife was a cousin to now departed T.V star Glyn Owen).sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 2:50 pmI'll be cheering on from darkest South Wales tonight.

He also pointed out, IIRC how much racist abuse had been handed out to a manager who got them to their highest ever points total of 96. And took them on their longest ever unbeaten run...GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 10:53 amBarry Bannan had a dig at their lot from the away leg for singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt", which was nice to see.

Bricking it now. Not in a nervous energy kind of way. Just in a ‘we’re not gonna turn up and get bullied’ kind of way.
Might be a little more positive after a beer or 10

Was gonna head over to the Boundary tonight and was going to message you.
Alas, I’m now watching from home with a few friends and family.

The missus has already seen her hind quarters because I'm not going out. Me then telling her I was off to the Boundary would've just resulted in some sort of A&E visit (but I'd've probably risked it )... Enjoy mate.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 5:20 pmWas gonna head over to the Boundary tonight and was going to message you.

Desperately want to see Jon Dadi Bod up front attacking, but I'm just a bit worried that if he starts, some big Tykes clunker will be tasked with taking him out. Same applies with young Bradley. Might be worrying for nothing, but in this league.... Who's the ref tonight and what's his form?

One of the benefits of missing out on tickets is that I'm currently sat here eating BBQ in the sunshine, waiting for the match to start.
You could almost pretend you're not about to play the biggest game of the season. Almost...
On the "big Tykes clunker" front, Tango, you're not worrying for nothing. They will go right up to the line of what they can get away with and then kick one of our lads clean across it.

Win and we have to play Wednesday and fight against what appears to be their ‘destiny’.
Lose and it really isn’t the end of the world.
Here is my hope. I just want one team (preferably us but whatever) to win by being good, outplaying the other. I don’t want this decided on penalties or by dodgy refereeing decisions. If we are outplayed so be it. If we outplay them all the better. But these games are worse if you feel robbed or are decided by a yard either side of a post in a shoot out.
