I'd be surprised if we see John or Sadlier before the close of the transfer window. It highlights that they're going to get playing time. If the plan is to improve the squad via departures and incoming players then it seems somewhat counterproductive to give them that playing time at the present moment.
I suspect both players would do a professional job should the need arise and I'd much rather see them in contention knowing that they're possibly on their way out. Better to have options with a point to prove rather than having them sat there frustrated.
As for resting players. Games vs Fleetwood should be contenders for just that especially in view of a local Derby.
Truth be told, lock in the points vs Fleetwood and have the derby game be a dice roll of sorts. 3 points from either game, doesn't matter, keeps us moving in the right direction. 6 points is ideal but difficult, a perfect month on the cards should all go well. Consistency is the key.

I've no inclination to see John and Sadlier. I see them as passengers now who could just slow us down.
Nothing against either of them, but they just don't fit. Think John has the ability and skill-set if he applies himself, but Sadlier is a lower level League 1 player

Anyway. Big ask to continue the Clean-Sheet streak, but I'll go for it anyway
2-0 to the Whites, with Dempsey and Adeboyejo on the score-sheet. One from outside the box and the other, a header from a corner

Cogley is a machine.
Fair play to the lad. They said his fitness numbers were through the roof.

Cheers - confirmed by personal experience, although it seemed to insist I register again. A warning if you’re leaving it late.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 6:43 pmYou do not.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 6:32 pmHas anyone worked out if you need the £5 per month / £50 per year account to watch a stream?

To misquote Baggy Trousers, “same old back five again”. I do worry about running the wingbacks’ legs to stumps but I guess the data boys are monitoring.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 6:46 pmCogley is a machine.

Thommo and Mags are in as I think Evatt will be expecting a more physical encounter tonight?

First start, so his teammates need to look after him and make sure they all do their jobs. Anything major he does is a bonus tonight. Steady is good enough.
On paper that's a terrific midfield 3. All three are combative and can look after the ball. Paris can break a press for fun.
Let's see who takes over from Sheehan in orchastrating things.

Lots of turnovers between the division’s top two pressing teams (small sample size so far but y’know)sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 6:58 pmThommo and Mags are in as I think Evatt will be expecting a more physical encounter tonight?

I'm hoping this will be the only home game I miss this season. Watch it be an absolute barnstormer.
Re: North by North West..Bolton v Fleetwood Tues 15th Aug 7-45.
Possibly. I'd imagine it's Evatt picking hardworking midfielders and not having a better backup option which means Dempsey has to do a double shift.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 6:58 pmThommo and Mags are in as I think Evatt will be expecting a more physical encounter tonight?
Good lineup for tonights match. Rotation makes sense. Lets hope we can keep the run going.

I'd say if we're winning comfortably and in full control come the 70/75 min mark I'd be looking to sub both wingbacks and give them a breather.

I'm sure that's come into Evatt's thinking. There's only so much they can play till things start tightening up.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 7:14 pmI'd say if we're winning comfortably and in full control come the 70/75 min mark I'd be looking to sub both wingbacks and give them a breather.
Last few games vs Fleetwood (latest at the top):
2-0 Win: Dempsey, Omochere (og)
1-2 Win: Mendes Gomes, Bradley, Afolayan
4-2 Win: Baggley, Charles, John, Garner, Charles, Bodvarsson
3-0 Loss: Garner, Biggins, Biggins
Plenty of Goals for us. Their previous goalscoring threats are not available with Mendes Gomes making his way to our club. Their only goalscoring player (Omochere) starts in midfield, hopefully a repeat of the OG from last time out.
Some Bolton old boys in their team tonight, Nsiala, Earl and Vela. I'd fancy Charles and Vic against Nsiala and Earl any day of the week. Vela is a concern in their midfield as I suspect Thomason and Maghoma might want to watch out for his physical tackles.
