We need something with a bit more grit, spine and commitment! Thinking maybe "No Class by Motorhead," but this is a pretty good walk-on for a shit sport....

Well yes…..being on brand is their thing I guess.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 1:46 pmTo be fair, though, nothing will ever be as organic as the Scoursers spontaneously bursting into song and coming out with "You'll never walk alone", a piece written about a botched armed robbery in which one of the assailants accidentally stabs himself whilst fleeing the scene.
The only time anything has ever been more on the nose it was Cary Grant hanging off George Washington's on Mount Rushmore.
I guess house of the rising sun was out of the running there…

This is really good. Like really good. Do I think it would work at Wanderers?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 2:54 pmWe need something with a bit more grit, spine and commitment! Thinking maybe "No Class by Motorhead," but this is a pretty good walk-on for a shit sport....
I think at least twenty I know would be writing strongly worded letters of complaint.

I think that’s got more chance personally. Will be fewer complaints for a start!

The Wanderer by Dion wins.
It's a post-match rather than pre-match song for me but there we are.

Re: Choose the matchday music
Could have been a lot worse but it’s not an atmosphere builder. They are asking people to ‘sing it’…..
Re: Choose the matchday music
I think it was the most obvious option but I suspect not the best option. Feels more like people saw the wanderer and thought that suits us.
Like it pre-match, but not necessarily one i'd associate with players coming out the tunnel.

In my decades watching Bolton I have never once, not once, heard the fans sing ‘The Wanderer’.

It's not a #banger but couldn't precisely the same be said about Z Cars at Everton and Local Hero at Newcastle? Nobody sings them... they're instrumentals...

Yeah sure. But I guess their clubs aren’t asking them to sing them either!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 9:02 pmIt's not a #banger but couldn't precisely the same be said about Z Cars at Everton and Local Hero at Newcastle? Nobody sings them... they're instrumentals...

They should just have a pre-match karaoke and whoever gets the 4 minutes before KO slot, that's it for the day.
I gotta say The Wanderer is fvking plodding.
