Also - big local derby and Sheehan doesn’t turn up. Need to learn that cos he’s not worth playing in these games.

He's been playing for the call up.

Bottled a challenge Tuesday too. I think he’s one who doesn’t fancy it when it matters. Pretty patterns when it’s easy but not up for the battle when you need.

Huddersfield after sacking their manager are 3-0 up at home without 20 minutes. Yeah this is getting filed under a bad day. Had a feeling this would be the case this week.

Run in will be a series of must wins who is up for Wigan? No? Haha.

It will be difficult for all 7 or 8 teams fighting for that 1 auto and 4 playoff spots. We are still in the mix. The players have to believe that and not allow us to miss out without a fight.

Ater that, a summer refresh no matter what happens.

I’m currently watching Charlton - Wigan, and we shouldn’t have much to worry about with the pies - they’re awful.

Got to say we got what we deserved. Baxter made three good saves before they scored with twenty minutes left and we’d not tasted their keeper once or created anything massively meaningful bar the Collins chance that he skied.
Pervert.

On the bright side:
• Good to have Bax back: Southwood's alleged better distribution doesn't mean nearly as much in a Schumacher team.
• Cogz is a man reborn. Can we get one of him as an option on the left?
• I don't think Thomason played badly at all at LCB - certainly wasn't in the half-dozen worst out there. Intriguing idea; let's see if it's pursued.
• I like Morley a lot, and I think we're better with him in the team. (Fair enough, he'd played six successive 90+ minutes since the Wrexham cup game, but I'd rather he have been rested at Rovers than in this game.)

There's also things to discuss on the dark side, but I can't be arsed. Sun's shining and I've got work to do.

All three I agree with. Baxter the better keeper and today showed it. Thomason looked very good there.

Morley maybe had run out of legs but I thought he was the best in the middle today by a distance. Was surprised to see him withdrawn.

If Randall had been playing against us and had the space we gave others, he'd probably have played a blinder and scored three goals today. Our control and passing is pretty awful compared to others and we wouldn't have to work so hard if we had better control of spaces. We also are decidedly second best for pace yet persist in suicide belief in offside being a solution. It isn't.

Just seen a replay of their goal. Why on gods green earth has Toal not smashed him into the east stand?

Then Sheehan lifts his hands up instead of a foot on him, close to the penalty area maybe.

Forino. Hands behind his back, turns and half arsed leg for the block.

Made the lad look like Messi.

Randall is absolutely rubbish and whoever thought spending a million quid on him was a good idea should never work in the game again.

I like Josh Sheehan a lot and I think a lot of the criticism he gets is unfair, but I completely agree. Toal had made a right bollix out on the wing but Sheehan let their mon run into the area. Worse, Josh was lifting his hands at least three yards outside the box. If I'd have been Forino I'd have been telling him to smash the f*cker, all day every day, and take the yellow. You don't let them into your box like that.

I'm trying to like Randall but he's increasingly looking like the answer to a question nobody bar Evatt was asking.

Luckily for Randall, Schumacher is a good man (unlikely to show the cold shoulder), a practical man (who will try to use the tools at his disposal), and a man who usually plays two No.10s, so he'll get opportunities between now and summer. What he does with them is up to him. But once Stockport settled into their low block, neither he nor CMG looked like the answer. Perhaps both are better away in games that stretch - but for the pricetag you'd want players with more utility.

Does anyone think that we could possibly get offers for the likes of Randall, Sheehan, Collins, McAtee, Lolos, CMG etc. in the summer should Schumacher have to generate funds to bring in his own players.

Easy to say after a win so just listened to Schuey’s post match and he says everything right. Maybe overstates our performance but that’s natural he’s not going to slag them off. But you can tell he sees it all and knows it. He probably already is thinking what the summer looks like.

Make the play offs or not and I suspect it’s for the best we don’t - next season we will be in league one and have to be setup to win the league next season. Big job ahead. But I think he’s shown it’s key additions we need and some going out. Rather than necessarily 15 changes.

Please don't, I'm having flashbacks. Utterly abysmal, should just take the yellow in that position.

That’s the problem in a nutshell with the team. Too many are too soft. And then there are too many mistakes too. Toal has an error in him. Like that one. Then we don’t have enough fighters who will just take a yellow or put a tough challenge in for the team. Goal was very very soft to concede and feel a bit sorry for Baxter. He played well.

I still think we will find it hard to get out of this league without a properly combative midfield. Sheehan might be a technically good player but he isn’t getting us out of the league imho.
