There are clearly not enough Jim's (Traff gets a close miss, McDonagh takes the accolade), Franks's, Bert's and Sam's. A Kev can go either way bit like Daves and a JJ is fine. But fcuking Teddy?
If ye olde names is what you like, the final XI of last season wasn't bad, including a Luke, George, Samuel, George again, Alex, Joel, John and Aaron. Later supplemented by a Joshua and a David, among others.
Not old names, proper ones! Brian Smith would've tackled like a fanny if he'd had the misfortune to have been called "Josh." Can you imagine watching Frank and Kev and thinking "they'd be better as Aaron's?" Inconcievable.

What would Ted Lowe make of this?!
Às armas, às armas!
Sobre a terra, sobre o mar,
Às armas, às armas!
Pela Pátria lutar!
Contra os canhões marchar, marchar!

Ted is acceptable. That's the proper contraction of Edward.

All together now .....

We've got super Steven Schumacher,
He knows exactly what we need:
Teddy at the back,
Aaron in attack.
We're going up the football league!

A claim that we're in "advanced talks" with Teddy Sharman-Lowe: https://www.footballinsider247.com/excl ... rman-lowe/
Named in the U21s squad for this summer’s Euros, so must be decent. Not sure he’s likely to play much, mind.
If we are loaning a premiership keeper my assumption is that he comes in with a very decent chance of being first choice. Otherwise why would Chelsea agree to loan him here and why would he come here? I’m sure there is natural competition but I can’t see it being anything other than being told that he has a real good chance of starting the season in the first team and staking his claim.

I meant he’s probably not going to play for the U21s.

Looks like Argyle may have tabled another £750k bid for Jatta. I can't see us having the funds to match that, which is a shame as signing a 6'4 quick front man who can find the net would get the pulse going early doors. In Schuey we trust.

Does feel like a pretty slow news period. Nothing imminent according to this. Though I rather think that whilst it’s obviously optimal to do business early in some respects I worry that the players who jump early are the ones who maybe others have judged not good enough or with some deficiency or another.

I know the answer to this one!

If we're getting them at bargain basement rates they'll have definitely been overlooked by others and discarded by their club. Was it Mr Harkin who was saying everyone has similar data, so you're looking for the players who haven't lived up to their potential previously, have had deficiency, but you're backing their character to come good and for them to improve in your coaching system.

(Very proud of myself here 8) )
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Some sites saying we are leading the race for Dalby. Interesting analysis video:

Oh and Orient release Randell.

Were some of his goals scored with his head? Well I never. None of that posh fangled heading malarky round these parts thank you very much!
