Iles reports that Noundulu, Lolos and McAtee are players we would listen to offers for. Good.
Well, small point of order: Iles reports on "strong rumours" about the last two:

"Dan Nlundulu is one of the players who has been told he can find a new club, and there have been strong rumours that Klaidi Lolos and John McAtee could also be made available with the right offer."

...which means he hasn't had it confirmed by anyone at the club. It's probably true, but nobody at the club is saying so. Not yet. After all, Schuey does say:

“There will be comings and goings. There will certainly a few more in, and there will be a few that will leave as well, because we can't have a squad full of 28 players. We need to make sure that we get the numbers right and, more importantly, we get the balance right.”
I wouldn’t expect it to come from the club but if he’s printed it it’s likely the case.

Interesting. Heard a rumour earlier this week that we’d bid £500K or thereabouts as a final offer and were moving on. Of course lots of ‘threat’ is about lowering price or forcing the issue but I’d not be surprised if this one isn’t happening as Pete is reliable and that tallies with the rumour.

Also on Collins if at 28 you have never played above league one and have just moved down to league two it’s flipping obvious that you aren’t very good. And being good is about the whole package. Not just ‘can you sometimes score a good goal’. We got our money back thanks to MK Dons overpaying in the same way we did. What do people think lower league strikers with reasonable but not stellar records who isn’t fancied by their current head coach are worth?

Don't suppose we could've done a 241 with Randall thrown in?

Yeah they will be trying to shake out bigger offers from elsewhere. We may have to wait a week or a while - or we may move on.

I still suspect we will loan at least one higher-division youngster to play wide. Doesn't mean we won't also buy - this lad would be a player for future sale as well as immeditate use - but I think we will need options, and at the moment we don't have many.

Maybe we have to give Randall a chance playing in one of the wide roles in a front three? He’s never in a million years a centre mid - and this fancy number 10 idea is complete bollocks in my mind - you are still a centre mid.

But maybe he can play out wide in the front three. Cutting inside - playing in the spaces.

He’s not really had a chance in a team that isn’t full of shrinking violets and in a role where we are matching him to his abilities and physical prowess.

I was at Royal Ascot yesterday so completely missed the Collins news. Whilst I did like him as a player, I'm not upset about him leaving, assuming we're going to bring in someone better. However, if we accepted a fee of sub £1m for him I would be slightly annoyed. Maybe McDons were the only ones in for him, but less than a million feels too low.

Wow. Never would have seen that. These are very good. Far better than the horrible cringey ones we used to do.

On another note is there any chance the club could stop posting on that horrible toxic and hate filled platform and do it elsewhere?

I don't think they should stop posting on there, where most of their fanbase is. (Yesterday TrotChat inspired a Wanderers-based argument between a Reform voter and a Tommy Robinson fan.) It's a bit like saying they should do books Because Mein Kampf.

But they should be (and probably are) looking to get bigger on other platforms - each of which might in turn end up toxic.

The platforms algorithm deliberately pushes far right racism to all users. It’s not the same as books. Yes there are extreme and unpleasant views on all platforms and the audience of any business will contain those - choosing to post on a platform that is actively delivering those views to its audience without any moderation or control I find unacceptable.

But this isn’t football so we can park it. I appreciate the news being shared here as I won’t go near it on there. I wish they’d put it elsewhere.

Re McAtee: the rumour several weeks ago doing the rounds, was that he'd been told to find another club, only to demand his contract be paid up. One way or another, if true, we need to get shut or he could potentially stink the whole place out. Lolos has been a dead man walking since Schuey came in. He didn't fancy him elsewhere and no one has seen anything in the matches he played that would prompt a change of heart.

I make that a LB, CB, striker and two wingers now needed?

I don't think he would need to 'demand' paying up as such, they're just the rules. I very much doubt we're going to be paying him two years' worth of wages, anyhow.

As stated before, hard to see many domestic takers for McAtee, unless we're willing to sell him for pennies on the pound.

Given the nature of football transfers, any funds raised would likely go to Luton anyway. Might as well stay, why would get rid of another 12 goals for essentially nowt?

Nice to see TSL finally done.

Completely fair viewpoint and I totally respect your decision not to use the platform. As a journalist, I have no option; I appreciate I don't also need to chase football news on there, but while I'm in the sewer I may as well check for interesting things floating past.

But also from the club's POV, it's completely fair to target their market of a quarter of a million followers.

I'm happy to post tweets on here so others don't have to go.

Yeah, pretty much every cash transfer is paid in stages. It's not like McDons will hand Schuey a comically large charity cheque than he then cashes in at Salford or wherever.

As The Gun says, McAtee would be within his rights to demand we honour the contract we sign; if we could find someone else to pay some or all of his wages, a la Cambridge/Nlundulu, then that's fine... as long as he agrees to leave, which he doesn't have to, but then he really would be digging his heels in. Still, like all transfers of contracted players, it requires three parties to agree: the contract sellers, the potential contract buyers, and the contracted player. In this case presumably a loan would need us to accept a salary slice we still pay – Cambridge paid all of Dan's wage, but I'm sure Wrexham's involvement will have driven McAtee's salary upwards. Or we could fire-sale him, but even then if the new club offers him less, he could (understandably) demand the difference from us as a pay-off.

That said, as jmjhb says, it may well be worth giving him another chance. To lose one double-figure scorer might be seen as acceptable rebuilding, but to lose two might be seen as using a wrecking ball. McAtee has faults (I'm not sure where he fits a Schuey system) but he doesn't strike me as work-shy.

 It'd still be outnumbered by what Ilesy described as Evatt's "four-box-four"
