Again it’s a question of where you’d play him.The_Gun wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 2:51 pmNot me.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 2:44 pmI imagine most feel this way but as DSB says we can’t control who is in demand and will attract offers.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 1:42 pmTime waits for no man, but it's about now. The future is beyond our direction, but use what we have ..Que Sera, etc. George is a Wanderer. I'd sooner Sheehan went than him. Just my opinion.

Again, on the proviso that Ceesay is coming in, I think Sheehan’s creativity is something I’d prefer to keep in the squad.

So, yourself and HMX both think Forino. No problem with that, he’s a unit and has pace for a big guy. He’d lead by example but he needs to stay fit.jmjhb wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 3:08 pmI'd be surprised if it was anyone but Forino.Frank Drebin wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 1:07 pmIf Thomason did leave, who then becomes captain? I’m hoping Thomason doesn’t leave though, Huddersfield are 4th favourites for outright winner of League 1, we’re 5th with the bookies and selling our captain to HTFC makes me uncomfortable.

Thomasson would be the last person I would want to leave. He gives us everything and does many things right. Having said that, everyone has their fair price.

I know what you mean but it depends if the fans and their opinions get so ‘free speech’ that it affects the players (see Rico’s missus, etc). I don’t mean folks on here so much as Twitter gobshites. I know you say they shouldn’t bother with social media, and that also makes perfect sense - but the thing is, some do. Not sure if Tomo does, though - he seems a bit old-school - but if he does he’ll find some folk rejoicing at the very idea of him leaving.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 1:56 pmThe good news is, you don't have to worry too much about fans opinions. They're not likely to have a big impact on who stays and goes. I think we just have to go with "managers call," and see what drops out the other side.

Toal and Johnston have both worn the armband before. Forino feels like a leader. Problem is, as Frank says, are any of those players definite regular starters? Who *is*?HMX wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 2:27 pmI’d look to the centre backs. Have Johnston or Toal been vice cap before? I think Forino might be a good leader.Frank Drebin wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 1:07 pmIf Thomason did leave, who then becomes captain? It has to be a regular starter.

Not the strongest source but an interesting idea. We haven’t yet signed “experience” as stated, and he’s a creative player. Whether he’s defensively strong enough as LB rather than LWB may be up for discussion.

Always going to be some folks that like you and others that don't. But where I'm at is Manager's backing should probably overcome it and if it's not forthcoming then maybe that talks louder...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 4:42 pmI know what you mean but it depends if the fans and their opinions get so ‘free speech’ that it affects the players (see Rico’s missus, etc). Despite the 2No potentially exciting winger signings, possibly Ceesay and even maybe Kenny from Celtic I still don't think that we are a anywhere near being a top 2 team - and that is because we still lack a proper experienced tough captain / leader on the pitch, and for me this is the most important position if we are to have any chance of success next season.

Anyone in the public eye in anyway is well advised to stay off it. The reality is nowadays most of the stuff on there about any individual or subject will be inherently unpleasant.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 4:42 pmI know what you mean but it depends if the fans and their opinions get so ‘free speech’ that it affects the players (see Rico’s missus, etc). If players can’t live their lives without indulging with it or worse find most of their lives lived through their phones even I have absolutely zero sympathy. Just don’t look.
I have much more sympathy with the stuff they can’t avoid. Like in the street or where people find their numbers or whatever.

Marc Iles , reporting on yesterday's closed doors match v Tranmere, points out that Morley was taken off in the second half "But no reason has been given by the club"
Am I just bored and reading too much into that, or was he subtly hinting at something? ?

And the club didn't give a reason for subbing the entire XI at half-time either. Something's not right.

Maybe the reason was "pre-season friendly."
Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Perhaps, but he was only brought on at half time.

That'll be it then: he'd already played for 15 minutes before the others came out for the second half.

Ilesy; “It is believed a left back and a striker are still on the cards, with a back-up goalkeeper now joining the list, but Bolton have not ruled out doing even more business if they choose to move on any more of their squad.”
With that in mind, the current guessing game online is trying to identify the trialist goalkeeper from a grainy screengrab. Suggestions include Ben Hamer, Christy Pym and Paul Farman, but to me it doesn’t look as much like any of them as it does like Schuey himself
