On Warren's wrist - depends on where the pin is. Doesn't Adeboyejo wear a wrist-cast as a sort of lucky charm after finding great form while forced to wear one?

Anyway - another good win to nil. I didn't see it but clearly we need more up top, and possibly to start weeding out backups who aren't good enough. Sounds like Schon, and some say CMG (although on this week's podcast Iles sounded very impressed with him). There will be outs as well as ins, and things might get a bit brutal over the next month.
Be very disappointed if he has to miss the start of the season as I have a feeling he’s going to be the surprise hit.

Yeah, and he has been taking the chance to impress while there's holes in the front line.

By the end of this suspected recovery time I would bloody well hope we've got two more strikers and maybe one or two more for the 3 of the 4231 – Super Amario's Brighton mate Caylan Vickers is one name linked - so he may find it harder to push in.

Charlie also seems up for the battle - I mean, that's how he got injured - so if he possibly can play I'm sure he will. If not, he'll have to smsh it with the Bs, in Sherpa Van games and in training. Good luck to the lad.

Nice to see Toaly, after Sonny's goal, push the youngster towards the fans to enjoy the moment. Also nice to see the lad want to just get on with it. Obviously we'll seek to replace Tomo with an experienced head but as with Conway, Inwood, Warren etc, the younguns have a chance to show their mettle while the squad's being rebuilt.

And here's the first goal, ICYMI - Super Amario twisting that poor fella's blood.

After a promising introduction under Evatt, I thought Sonny had largely looked out of his depth when given a chance by Schuey.

He’s one I really would prefer to be loaned out for the full season. That position takes a lot of learning, and I think playing men’s football where he wouldn’t be afforded much time on the ball would be hugely beneficial for his development.

He had that bad half at Lincoln and was switched out at the break. But we learn more in defeat than victory and God knows he wasn't he only clunker that day.

I think your development assessment is probably right but
(1) depends what the coaches have though in pre-season training - against better players than most he'd face on loan
(2) I suspect he will be kept around until a Tomo replacement is secured and settled. If he's going to an EFL club, we have six weeks to choose; if non-league (and we must surely be thinking no lower than National League) it can be after that.

NB he still has two underage seasons left - 2025/26 and 2026/27.

Thomason was starting captain for 13 league games under Schumacher. For the other five...
Feb 8 Crawley - Toal (Sheehan started)
Feb 15 Shrewsbury - Toal (Sheehan was on bench)
But then Toal got injured...
Feb 22 ORIENT - Sheehan
Mar 1 Wrexham - Sheehan
Apr 25 BRISTOL ROVERS - Sheehan

However, neither Toal nor Sheehan start today. Iles says Johnston is skipper.
I had in mind it was chucked across during subs. :-)
FYI Ilesy match analysis says this:
"George Johnston wore the captain’s armband in the first hour, handing it over to Eoin Toal in the second half. The issue of captaincy is another matter for the head coach to consider in the coming weeks – and of the existing options in the squad, the two central defenders, plus Chris Forino, look the most likely contenders."
Sheehan – Schuey's previous pick - notably absent, but then it looks like he's not in the first XI as the season starts... trouble is, which centre-back is nailed-on? Now Dalby's injured there's only one certain starter - presenting skipper Teddy Sharman-Lowe! :D

Did we think Dalby was first choice?

I had him as a starter depending on the opposition. If we're needing a big lump, then great. If the trickier, more footballing bods are able to make headway then he'll be benched. Rotate as needed.

TSL, is the main man, first name on the teamsheet and all that. Unless we can get another goalkeeper to genuinely threaten for the position.
