A thousand apologies to Commie and Blurred, but I'm afraid it looks like I will be unable to attend. It seems I agreed a while back to be my mum's partner on the 20th in the mixed open at our club - an event we won the year before last.

If you would consider a tee-time in the afternoon, I will see how early I can play in the morning in the open in order to try to make both.

After all Commie's (and now Bruce's) hard work in organising the comp and prizes they deserve at least a decent turn out. Get in there quick and let's have fun.

I'd love to take part, but I'm rubbish as Brucie will confirm. I can't hit the ball very far yet, and you will all just get annoyed with me!!!! So the best thing to do is for me to gracefully decline this invite rather than make myself look a complete numpty...

I bet you boys would rather talk about beer, cars, football and birds without a rubbish girl hanging around anyways!!!!

No I won't, you're doing very well. You just need to remember that you actually hit it further when you don't try and whack the ball as though you hate it.

10 over in 9 holes last night at old links. two pars and spent no time in trees. not bad for first round back from my sabbatical. People who think they're giving me a lower handicap though i must point out that i usually wilt on the back 9
