Samhater's grand day out

Post by TANGODANCER » Sat Sep 16, 2006 8:12 pm

Well, it happened. Samhater lost his bet and had to turn up and wear a "I love Sam" T-Shirt. Did he do it? Answer is "Yes". All credit to him as he donned it in the Beehive before the game and kept it on. (Keveh has photos). Samhater, who is actually a very nice guy in the flesh, took it all extremely well and entered into the spirit of things. Nice meet-up with the TW gang and a leisurely couple before the game. Another sunshiny day and the match was'nt too bad at all. Highlight for me was walking down to the Beehive and seeing this guy holding something out and pointing. I thought he was selling something but he's spotted my "Who Shot Campo" T-Shirt and it was Burnden58 on his way to the ground.

We raised a glass to our ardent supporter absent friends from afar, Dujon, Monty, Faninoz and American Trotter etc and it was another grand day.

Kinnell Batty, can't you tell a rolled cigarette from a cigar? I only ever smoke roll-ups and can't even take to ordinary cigs anymore. Roll-ups forever (or is it Roll up-s begin)

If you think that entitles you to some sort of pint sized refund, TANGO, you are dreaming. :D

Thanks for the thoughts. It's good to see you all got on well and finally realise that SH is a decent fella.

Always a pleasure. :pissed:

The 'why do these things always happen to me' highlight of the meetup - Burnden58 throwing his pint all over me whilst introducing himself and shaking my hand! (No harm done...though I will be invoicing the TW management for the dry cleaning bill :wink2: )

That was a tremendous introduction.

Although my impressive departure tops that, it came to the time when I had to go and meet me mam to get my tickets, so in front of the crowd I said my farewells and left by the nearest door, only to realise it was barricaded off, so I sheepishly walked back in and said my farewells again, got to the door of the pub and realised I had left my coat, so I had to go back in and say ta-ra for a third time.

Impressive stuff.

Youve spoiled the mystique now SH. I pictured you as someone who never smiled, ever, not once.

No, SH is much better looking. How does the line go, Bruce - "Welcome to the cheap seats,
where your life's seen through cracked spectacles."?
