All my 'Novel time' is going into getting The Wanderer published, which meant that 'Ghost Warrior' would have been sitting on Chapter five for quite a while, so I pulled it. Just until I can give it the attention it deserves. At which time it will be up and running again.ratbert wrote:What has happened to 'Ghost Warrior'? Surely it's not finished already...
So you lot will just have to wait to see if Crazy Horse has infact cheated death

Just to keep you upto speed, I've just recieved this email from the club:

I guess I can spare a couple of copies for the shopMark,
Thank you for your e-mail regarding the novel you are trying to publish.
It would be useful to have a copy of the manuscript to read the content thoroughly before giving final sign off.
Providing the club is happy with the content then we may ask for some free copies to retail in the Club Superstore once it is published.
Regards

Well done on the club shop thing - hope that comes off for you. My mate's one (even though he is now a columnist for the official web site) can not be sold in the club shop owing to the fact that we've (Liverpool) got a deal with Granada and they have the say-so over which books can be sold there - surprisingly, they all bear the hand of Granada. Funny that, isn't it?

I believe it's a 'you scratch my back' arrangement, seeing as I need their permission to use their name.Trott wrote:Why should the club shop get "free" copies?
Why can't they pay for them like everybody else?
Plus it's good publicity for the book, so I'm hardly complaining

You're not using their name - "The wanderer" is not a registered trademark of BWFC it's parent company or any of it's subsidiaries as far as I can ascertain.Soldier_Of_The_White_Army wrote:I believe it's a 'you scratch my back' arrangement, seeing as I need their permission to use their name.Trott wrote:Why should the club shop get "free" copies?

And as for the using the name of the club in the book, it's a work of fiction so beyond being polite you don't really need their permission. Have you got the other clubs' permissions?

Well I've emailed the club the entire manustript now, so I guess I'll know soon enough!ratbert wrote:'Provided they are happy with the content' - presumably if they're not...
...mind, the creator of Dilbert might get a tad huffy about my name showing up there. But I doubt he'll ever read it.

Ah yes, but they would. Wartime Wanderers was about our own players heroic deeds, signing up for war on the pitch during a half time interval and their subsequent contributions to the 2nd World War iirc.Tombwfc wrote:This is great for you Soldier, hope it works out. Well Done.
Does anyone remember that other book that was written by a Bolton fan. They sold that in the club shop. Advertised it quite a bit too in the shop/programme ect.
May the bridges I burn light your way
Wasn't there one about a Wanderers fan who got bullied or something. I don't remember the details. Just seeing it in the club shop.Bruce Rioja wrote:Ah yes, but they would.
