Re: Tired of chucking cookies
Downloaded CCleaner and it's noticeably increased my home PC's speed. Trouble is it now stops me opening multiple windows, which is a sh!tter when I'm half way through a post and think "I'll just check that fact in another window..."Mar wrote:You're going to get less problems with your computer if you regularly clean up the rubbish that is left on your computer by internet sites. http://www.ccleaner.com is a good program to use for it and for what, you have to log in every so often. Hardly that bad now is it.

As you wish - it does work but then I have to login again to every other site for which I have cookies - I don't know how to isolate the TW cookie.Batman wrote:I'll leave it a few days then give that a go, in case we get any more updates.

Hokey doke. It's a bit more primitive in ie. The following works in Internet Explorer 6.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Internet explorerwarthog wrote:Dead easy if you're using Firefox. Select tools from the top menu and then internet options. Press the settings button and then the view files button. This will give you a list of temporary internet files. Click on the name column to sort the list by name. Now scroll down until you see a list of files which begin 'cookie:' Find the one which has 'www.the-wanderer' in the name. Delete that file, close all the dialog boxes and you're done.
Firefox users do the following:
Select tools from top menu and select Options.
Click on Privacy and then the cookies tab.
Press the view cookies button.
Select the-wanderer from the list of sites and press the remove cookies button.
Close all the dialog boxes.

Anyone remember typing "Load" and "Run" onto your Spectrum 48k before starting your big arsed buttoned tape recorder, thinking you were a computer geek?warthog wrote:Select tools from the top menu and then internet options. I remember doing exactly the same thing, it was a bag of shite wasn't it?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I once spent about two hours typing in a program from my Commodore 64 manual to make it play Michael Row The Boat Ashore. It sounded like a cheap doorbell.
Still got that C64 somewhere at me mum's, and a Vic 20 I picked up later... And loads of cartridges...

I've actually still got my Spectrum in the loftDave Sutton's barnet wrote:I once spent about two hours typing in a program from my Commodore 64 manual to make it play Michael Row The Boat Ashore. It sounded like a cheap doorbell.

As well as my Super Nintendo (only because I still play Zelda from time to time )
As for the spectrum, remember this routine:
1. Load tape
2. Put volume to 7
3. Press play
4. Have seizure due to screen colours and sound
5. Wait 15 minutes while the spectrum loads a crap picture
6. Wait another 20 minutes to load the game
7. Read the 'game not loaded' message
8. Adjust volume
9. press play
