USA vs Brazil

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I say take Gooch off. I know we don't have many defenders that are actually decent (besides full backs), but Onyewu has proved time and time again he's a mess. We need someone like, say, Michael Bradley at defense. I think he can make a great defender, he won most of the balls against Ronaldinho and kaka, if I recall. Replace him with Ricardo Clark at the midfield.

Between the red card against Sweden and the penalty the other day I'm not so sure. He's doing a good job in midfield, don't put him in a position where the rougher elements of his game will cost us big time. Too bad we can't just clone Bocanegra . . .

Yeah, seriously. Bocanegra is a great defender. For some reason, he plays a lot better in the national team then he does in fulham....... Even against Brazil.

I dunno, he looked pretty damned good against Bolton . . . sadly. He does the simple stuff well, he gets to the ball and gets rid of it. Something we could use these days.

Batman. You support a team of which 50% of the central defence options comprise Gerald Cid and Ľubomír Michalík. A defence to which Gary Docherty wouldn't look entirely out of place, let you're slagging off Jamie Carragher as being "shit". I'd be tempted to wind the old neck in if I were you, caped crusader!

Carragher has one great redeeming feature- he can defend- very useful for a defender

I know I'm late but I have to say that when Wolff starts and the best sub we have for him is Eddie Johnson, you know we are seriously lacking forwards.

Seems like Johnson is scoring again at his club which is good to see, looked so promising before his injury. Agreed about Wolff though, the guy must have pictures of Arena and Bradley. Bradley needs to try to find a bit more consistency in the lineup. I'd like to see Ching and Johnson given some time together to build a partnership. Dempsey is NOT a forward.
