England Squad

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Fair point. Still remember that intentional stamp on Nolan's chest in a New Year game. Although I'm sure you'll say that was just to try and stamp the gut fat back in.....

stamping on nolan must be like walking on a bouncy castle, but gerrard is a career cheat, and a hypocrite too.

Sounds like you've been listening to the commentary team too much.
Bollocks, I can see enough with my own eyes. Their first goal was due to him giving the ball away, the fourth time he'd given the ball away. And his delivery was shit too. It's not just physical evidence that he's past it, his mind isn't as sharp either

Gerrard was piss poor. Can't play a simple ball, always has to try something fancy despite the obvious being on.
And why is he (a footballer) flying off to Beijing as our representative for London 2012, when we don't enter a British football team? Maybe if he wasn't spending so much time gallivanting around the globe arsing around he's still have something to offer the national team.

One or the other Mr Beckham!

P.S. I'm sure Chelsea are happy that Lampard didn't play tonight. What with Cole, Cole and Chech all involved.
Beckham is a national ambassador for the London 2012 games. He's probably the most high profile of the lot and carries the greatest weight in representing the nation. It has nothing to do with the fact that we don't enter a British football team. He's a sportsmen and as an ambassador it's his duty to be in Beijing. Hardly 'galvanting around the globe arsing around', is it?

Stuart Downing said " Capello has done away with the old boys network" well you could have fooled me given that squad.

Gerrard always gives 110% for England & most L'pool fans would tell you that he usually goes missing for them in a game prior to an England match.

Now I did'nt see the game but if Capello did play Fat Frank & Gerrard together hopefully he'll note that error and not try it again. It has'nt worked yet and never will.

Hope Fabio can sort the mess out before Croatia because as it stands they'll drub us, again.
If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England

Especially seeing as he tried to accommodate both by putting Gerrard on the left wing. Don't think I saw Lampard touch the ball in the highlights, which just goes to show who should make way.

What makes Downing think that anyone cares what he says?

The fact that he was being interviewed? :conf:

That was the worst "4-3-2-1" formation I've ever seen, particularly as Rooney drops off left and Gerrard right for their clubs, why change them over for country?

Sorry FD, Beckham no longer merits a place in the team

Didn't even realise Lampard was playing until near half time

very poor indeed

I had no idea they played untill about 11 last night. That's how much apathy those nice people engender from me.
