I thought it was right that Jodie Kidd went tonight, but Christine is lucky. Just didn't work for her at all, which surprised me because I thought she looked good in practice.

After reading this, I had a casual glance in the NOTW in Tesco earlier on... it's just a picture of Kristina with her top off at a party six years ago. Looks like she's had some 'work' done since then though!Prufrock wrote:LINK you fecker?!hisroyalgingerness wrote:More importantly, John Sargeant's dance partner the lovely Kristina has her tatties out in the NOTW today

There's a comment to be made thereTANGODANCER wrote:Mmmm. Paso Doble for you then Raven. Just strut around looking arrogant and let Flavia do all the work. That should do it.Raven wrote:Flavia and the Tango for me please.TANGODANCER wrote:Good to see you're all watching guys. Next step, TW Open Dance Championships. Only problem is that I would make John Sargeant look good, don't have 2 left feet more like 2 peg legs and no sense of rhythm at all

Disagree there, really - Tom wasn't as consistently good as the girls the last couple of weeks (though his show dance WAS a blinder) and given Lisa and Rachel got top marks from the judges suggests that he won because he was the 'housewives' choice' rather than it being on overall merit.TANGODANCER wrote:Dragged this back up to avoid it interfering in other threads. Shows over now (sadly for me) so I won't be boring you much longer. Great night's entertainment, particularly after the Whites display today, and a worthy winner. Saturday won't seem the same.

Don't know where you guys were looking. Lisa made three errors and got four tens. Tom's foot slipped on the floor (something that could have happened to Fred Astaire) in an otherwise faultless dance and he got marked seven points less? Rachel and Vincent went for the floaty Romeo and Juliet stuff right through.
Turn both Lisa and Rachel loose away from their partners and they wouldn't know what to do on a dance floor, that's why Tom won. The man's a natural dancer whereas the other two just went for "no-mistake" dance-class stuff. Keep the words of Arlene Phillips in mind : "That wasn't a good dance for an amateur, that was a good dance for a professional"
Austin Healey was the best dancer of them all and he got marked out by the judges. He should have been the winner. As it was, the next best guy won.

End of the day without knowing much about dances I found Lisa's and Rachel's far better to watch than Tom's. He always looked a bit awkward to me (showdance aside).TANGODANCER wrote:Don't know where you guys were looking. Lisa made three errors and got four tens. Judges obviously agreed giving Lisa full marks both times.
Perhaps we should do away with the judges then?
Mind we all know who would have won by a landslide in that situation don't we?
Both Austin and Tom peaked too soon and looked lost when dancing without their partners to cling to. As I said, housewive's choice, the BBC knew that which is why they contrived the scoring to keep him in. More women watch and vote than men, therefore more revenue via the phone lines. Easy!TANGODANCER wrote:Don't know where you guys were looking. Lisa made three errors and got four tens. So, Tangp. Just sos i can impress the missus. Was he the best dancer of the final three? Or was his "story" just a bit more engaging than that of the others? Was it more to do with personality or dancing ability? Which dance swung it? Missus says it was the last one.

In my opinion Tom wasn't 7 points worse than Brendan and Lisa over the two dances.
I think the judges decided to make a gap that would be hard for Tom and Camilla to recover from.
Also I think the public were turned off by
1 Rachel and Vincent simpering over each other all the time and
2 Being reminded that Brendan Cole had already won it.

Apart from when John Sargent was in Tom won the vote every week by a big margin.enfieldwhite wrote:In my opinion Tom wasn't 7 points worse than Brendan and Lisa over the two dances.

He won because as someone else pointed out he was the "housewife's choice".
Personally I think he came across as a very smug annoying individual (and I'd never heard of him till I saw him in this).
