I'm going to ladies day tomorrow and can't wait. Dressing smart, drinking in the sun and being surrounded by girls in nice dresses. What's not to be excited about? I have a ticket for Saturday as well but that would mean missing out on the delicacy at the Reebok.

Rambling Minister is one of the favourites at 10-1 but I'll take an each way bet on Snowy Morning at 28-1 (we get a lot of snowy mornings here and it worked last year) and Black Apalachi at 16-1 to win.

As per TD I've going to take a punt on Rambling Minster e/w. In form and is carrying less weight than alot of the other favourites. Just had my go in the sweepstake, got Hear the Echo. Won the Irish National, so hopefully in with a shot there too.

On top of the sweestake pull Hear The Echo, I've had each way bets on Rambling Minster, State of Play and Darkness.

Aftertiming I know but managed to net the place monies for State of Play.

Had an amazing day with 6/7 of my football bets winning too, all between 2.16 up to 3.8. GTFI.

Every year I think about sticking a quid on each of the outsiders. Just in case. But how often does this happen.

Hear The Echo faded and State of Play never really challenged.

Ah well, it's a spectacle more than anything else.

I went to the 2007 National. What a day it is. It's nowhere near your average day at the races, which is good enough as it is. There's just so much more going on, and there's some racing every now and again.

Just after the race in 2007, we went back to the bar to see a young lady fellating a young gentleman in a corner of the marquee. When we started cheering, she simply stopped as she was doing, said in a broad scouse accent "wharra youse fookin' lookin' a'?", and promptly continued going about what was in her hand like a dog eating hot chips.
