We ( sunderland) have been basically raping them since the last day of the season and they just keep making it easier for us. My favourite offer was that of " an escape form colditz board game circa 1968 with only a couple of pieces missing" We have just about burst their mail box on this one...superjohnmcginlay wrote:Someone offered a 1981 Shoot Annual and 6 stamps.officer_dibble wrote:I read that someone had offered a curly wurly!
This might provide a few minutes amusement on a friday afternoon, i know it wont mean as much to you as us but its funny as...

Newcastle pay Joey Barton 675,000 per year for his image rights. I nearly pissed myself laughing when I read that.

I'm not so sure that I'm having that figure at all. For all of his other shortcomings, Mike Ashley is an extremely successful sportswear retailer and knows exactly the value of a players image rights as a cost when set against projected additional sales, and to say that the soiled image of Joey Barton could, even before his latest contretemps, be valued at just under £13K a week is frankly ridiculous I'd say.seanworth wrote: Newcastle pay Joey Barton 675,000 per year for his image rights. But Barton was signed and the image rights agreed before Mike Ashley was the owner.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm not so sure that I'm having that figure at all. Just how stupid have Newcastle been, what mess they are in. With contracts like this who is likely to take them on at all??
".... In a development that will infuriate an already despairing Toon Army, it has emerged that beleaguered owner Mike Ashley is committed to paying his players massive 'bonuses' at the end of this month, less than six weeks after they tamely surrendered Newcastle's place in the Barclays Premier League.
With senior figures such as Michael Owen and Mark Viduka due annual loyalty payments believed to be in the region of £400,000, the overall bill will be around £10m. ..."
".... As a further indication of the financial chaos on Tyneside, Sportsmail has learned some Newcastle players will be heading into the Coca-Cola Championship on an increased salary in what appears to be a glaring oversight by club executives. While the likes of Hull, Stoke, Birmingham and West Bromwich always make provision for relegation in any contract negotiations, Newcastle evidently saw no need to in their recent dealings. ....."

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Can this actually be true. I don't even understand the logic.Newcastle face a £750,000 wage bill for strikers Michael Owen and Mark Viduka, even though the pair may not play for the club again.
Both players' deals expire on Tuesday, but they have a clause in their contracts that means they will be paid for another month if they do not sign for clubs in July.
