A party that "fixes" things like positive discrimination and to hell with talent that lumbers us with crackpots like Harman or kids as foreign ministers who know nowt but benidorm! The same party that want to fix loads of foreigners coming over here because they are incapable of stopping illegals! My guess is that any 'crackpot' assessment exercise comparing idiocy levels between hobo and his nanny would indicate hobo as a more urgent case for treatment... she doesn't think of him at all, and he obsesses waking and sleeping about the evil one whose attraction he cannot resist... 'Who's the nanny?' she whispers in his dreams, 'who's the nanny?'
Lord Kangana wrote:Infantile? Interesting. We (taxpayers) are told that taxes (money we pay in for public services) will have to be used to keep the banking sector afloat. Without any consultation. Becasue of the mistakes the banking sector made. We are then told that this in turn will mean cuts in essential public service, including (but not exclusive to) education, on top of which the banking sector will not be paying back this loan in the lifetime of the next Parliament, leading to further spending cuts. The same banking sector (with the same people in charge) that now lends money to foreign business to buy a recognised British brand.
I may be infantile, but I'm not a mug.
Hmmm blaming 'the bankers' might be generalisation, just like A1 saying it's 'everyone's' fault, but if you swap 'bankers' for 'banking system' I'm with you. Bail out the banks? Sure, coz we have to, right? I mean we could you know, ask folk, or even pretend to explain why exactly we HAVE to bail them out. But hey, ignore that, assuming we do HAVE to bail out the banks on account of their mistakes, which happened because folk decided self regulation was a good idea, and they cocked it up, now we've bailed them out, and as a result are cutting back on university funding, education, pensions, pretty much anything that costs more than what you could find down the back of the collective sofa, should we expect them to, you know, maybe pay some of it back? I was under the impression there was at least a pretence this was a loan? Record bonuses? Erm, can we have some of that back please? What with it being ours and that.

Really Hoboh? There are so very many issues on which to attack Labour and Gordon Brown, and that is the best you can come up with? In what way is he unelected? The constituents of Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath elected him as their MP. The Labour party got a majority in Parliament and became the ruling party. Gordon Brown is their elected leader. Unless of course you were under the impression that it is some sort of popularity contest where policies don't count, but smiley happy PR and appearances on Trisha do. But then surely you would be part of the problem, and, as we all know, you are the solution.Hobinho wrote:So let me get this right here, if x offers you a better deal than y and you take it up your a whore? if i think about it more, you could probably blame gordon brown... he's the new thatcher.
whatever. its done now.

Apart from the minor point that it's parties that get elected based on a manifesto - not party leaders - and parties have the right to elect their own leader and in a cabinet Government the leader can't run the country carte blanche. Apart from that. I await with huge interest to see what the next set of incumbents do to sort out the problems that Hobho mentions.Prufrock wrote:Really Hoboh? I'm convinced that the arseholes down the road will be working within weeks. Immigration (which we actually need) will dry up overnight. We will all be back on huge fry-ups INCLUDING FRIED BREAD.
But I'm really mystified around how, even approximately, Gordon Brown getting his sums wrong - if indeed you have any evidence of the same - led somehow to the global recession?
I'm also mystified around A1's point regarding people changing mortgages, credit cards and loans somehow being a contributory factor too.
Got me beat.
Pru, Barclay's were not tax payer bailed out, they've done well, why attack their bonus?
Worthy, two things, Brown relaxed regulations on the financial industry that allowed the banking sector to get in the mess it did to keep the "city" competitive.
When Brown became leader there was a fundamental shift in Labour policy and what the party was doing, He should therefore have gone to the country to get a mandate for this not just carried it out regardless.
William, Harman would castrate us all to "render without gender" if she could she is dangerous, just like the Nazi's,
a1, Browns one of yours, have him back! PLEASE

What regulations did he relax that you believe caused a toxic debt problem in the US that then had a knock-on effect world-wide? You also mention fundamental shift in labour policy (rather in the manner of a hack for the Sun) which shifts were these?Hobinho wrote:Pru, Barclay's were not tax payer bailed out, they've done well, why attack their bonus?

The very fact that you need to ask shows the necessity of the Lard Information Council.superjohnmcginlay wrote:Lard Information Council? How much information is there based around lard?

But everybody loves lard. It's God's own fat. Divine cholesterol.superjohnmcginlay wrote:Oh. I'll bear it in mind next time I'm faced with the choice between lard and beef dripping. Olives are 'orrible.

Remember "Prudence" she who must be at the head of all ecconomic polices when Rob Roy was Chancellor? You remember she who must have a tight fiscal grasp on all public expenditure! The one who was jilted when when he made PM to spend his way to victory in the next election he had planned for last year untill the relaxation of rules the treasuary used to govern banks capital exposures he made came back to bite his nuts.Worthy4England wrote:What regulations did he relax that you believe caused a toxic debt problem in the US that then had a knock-on effect world-wide? Where in Browns non elected election manifesto does it mention nationalising banks in all but name? Labour were not elected to do this nor throw vast sums of money into public works.

Yes if you haven't analysed the consequences and what happens with interest rates if they go up etc etc.Hobinho wrote:So let me get this right here, if x offers you a better deal than y and you take it up your a whore? Fed up of people looking for someone else to blame. Take responsibility for your own life, and stop blaming the nasty government/council/banks etc etc.
