Interesting (both). I'll let you know how it goes.East Lower wrote:Wasn't keen.William the White wrote:Very,very unusually, better than the novel - esp the ending. Good book, that.Gary the Enfield wrote:Sounds like the plot line for Stephen King's 'Cell'ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Saw an ad for this, is it that Andrew Lincoln fella who used to be in This Life?East Lower wrote:Starts tonight on FXThe Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and follows a small group of survivors traveling across the United States in search of a new home away from the hordes of zombies. have Kite Runner saved on my sky+ from ages ago, haven't got round to watching it yet.
Tonights film choice is Vera Drake, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento or Scott Pilgrim???
Memento scoring highest on IMDB coming in with a uberimpressive 8.7! closely followed by ESotSM with 8.5. Scott Pilgrim in third with 8.1 and Vera Drake comes in last with 7.8.
funny thing is i kind of fancy them in exact reverse order!

Memento absolutely extraordinary and really must be seen - there are plenty who do not rave, but they are very outnumbered. Eternal Sunshine had Kermode purring - and not without reason. Vera Drake is more missable - i suspect - than Leigh's current release Another Year, which is getting universal raves... Not seen Scott Pilgrim... Let me know what you think...General Mannerheim wrote:have Kite Runner saved on my sky+ from ages ago, haven't got round to watching it yet.

Just got back from watching The Social Network; I thought it was pretty good just a bit overlong (especially with a Nandos repeating on me!). Very interesting to see how something like Facebook can snowball from absolutely nothing to the centre of a lot of young peoples lives in just a few years. Timberlake looks a bit odd though and plays a tosspot.
Now, lets try and track down those new Partridge episodes!

There are three different threads that I could post this into, but I've chosen this. Love it - especially as an avid watcher of Masterchef.

There's an extra on the DVD that allows you to watch Memento in proper sequence, and it's still pretty good.William the White wrote:Memento absolutely extraordinary and really must be seen - there are plenty who do not rave, but they are very outnumbered. Got tickets to Kermode's one man show at the Dancehouse in a fortnight, looking forward to asking him which scene in Transformers was his favourite.
Last night I watched Walking Dead again, and loved it, and Resident Evil Afterlife, which though utterly shit was still enjoyable.

yeah loved Memento, will definitely have a look for that sequence later! Vera Drake was alright too.
Sky plused Walking Dead but wont be able to watch it till the weekend now, and also caught up with The Trip which was a bit disappointing tbh.
Machete tho is brilliant, do well to find a better opening sequence than that! (when he culls 4 blokes in one circular sweep!
)
The 'to watch' list is piling up at the moment, and gonna get worse with Black Ops out tomorrow! not enough hours in the day!

Going to watch The Trip tonight - is it similar to the theme throughout Cock and Bull Story? Seems so.General Mannerheim wrote:yeah loved Memento, will definitely have a look for that sequence later! Vera Drake was alright too.

Black Ops is on my wait list, not that bothered when the single player is an afterthought to the online.
