We've got 2 managers on the payroll. Give them the other one.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Someone at work listens to talksport and was saying this today. Apparently it was Adrian (teams like Bolton shouldn't be in the premiership) Durham who has a "source" on Arsenals board. If you believe that you'll believe anything!
Yes Coyle will leave probably in a season or two's time and I'd not be surprised if he went somewhere like Arsenal, but christ if we have a bad month he'll be getting grief from half the posters on here let alone being touted for Arsenal. Too soon for us to worry about Coyle going elsewhere. He's got to achieve something here first!

If theres any truth in it, we can't stop it. I certainly wouldn't want us acting like Burnley fans.
However, I'd be genuinly f*cking amazed if after 14 good games he was given a shot at Arsenal. Amazed. Clubs like Arsenal generally don't act like that, unless they're looking for the interim patsy like BR.
If he's going, I'd just ask for a bit of honesty towards Gartside. Theres no way they can negotiate in public, but at least treat the club with dignity.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

If Coyle manages a top ten finish this season and next and does well in a cup, qualifies us for Europe etc then the likes of Arsenal may well come knocking. But currently he could still by the end of this season have the same ppg record as Megson had here, so lets not start worrying about something that is clearly at this stage a load of nice person wankery.

Not if he takes a 'break from football for family reasons' and then pitches up at The Emirates two weeks later.

This is the biggest non-starter in recent memory. If Owen Coyle leaves Bolton for Arsenal before Christmas 2012 I'll show my arse on ALL the Town Hall steps displayed on the other thread to date. With pictures.

We got compensation for said holiday didn't we? Not as much as we'd have got for him going straight there, but some none the less.Gary the Enfield wrote:Lord Kangana wrote:Are we entitled to a fee?

... & Gary, good luck with that, but take care in NYC. I suspect the local scuffers wouldn't turn the same blind-eye that the Peelers of Boilton do.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED
Re: January transfer window...
The Club need to keep strong and only off load those players we don't want, even if we give them away to save the salary. But we will never be in a position to challenge for Europe if we sell our best players for anything less than silly money, so 20mil for Cahill minimum in January if Liverpool and/or Chelsea are so desperate for a new centre half! If they wont pay that kind of money then keep him, if its true that Eddie isn't going to call his loans in then don't sell him at least until the summer.

Re: January transfer window...
Doesn't Cahill get some say in this? 20mil? Keep on dreaming. I can just imagine that negotiation. "Sorry we have Europe ambitions so you will have to pay 20m". "Sounds fair where do I sign".FaninOz wrote:The Club need to keep strong and only off load those players we don't want, even if we give them away to save the salary. I would be very happy with 12m and I think that might be a stretch.
