I'm not adverse to, batting down the hatches either...thebish wrote:Little Green Man wrote:What a bunch of pre-Madonnas!
we should do away with all this jumbled and mis-used expressions in one foul swoop... but, there'll be more, so batter down the hatches...
I'm on tender hooks and champing at the bit to see what people come up with, but then again all that glitters isn't gold, so I'm sure there will be some poor ones but that's a mute point.

Aye, as in my boss, very much the huntin', shootin', fishin' type said that one of the management team had made a cock-up and so "scored a home goal".thebish wrote:some beauties in there!David Lee's Hair wrote:I'm not adverse to, batting down the hatches either...thebish wrote:Little Green Man wrote:What a bunch of pre-Madonnas!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Al-Habsi to leave
So long as he doesn't sign permanently for the pie eating scum, and we get a good amount of money for him, then I think he should be sold. He's a cracking goalkeeper and deserves regular first team football.
Re: Al-Habsi to leave
I've always been a big fan of Ali's but I really don't care who we sell him to if the price is right, I trust Coyle's judgement.

Surely young Bogdan will see this as a good oman, he must be hungary for more chances and has a good chance of taking over after Jussi finnishes his career.

Didn't think much of AL Habsi but seen him the other day against Wolves and he practically won them the game.

Played a very big part in keeping us up a couple of years back. He's an incredible shot stopper, and very decent in the air too. Will be in the top flight for many years to come.

Oman, didn't expect this!
But seriously, great keeper and I'd happily take £5m and wish him all the best.

Re: Al-Habsi to leave
So, let me get this right. You didn't think much of him from the games in which he contributed significantly to our staying up, but have altered that opinion by dint of him playing well for Wigan against Wolves? Good fecking grief!Eire_Trotter wrote:Didn't think much of AL Habsi but seen him the other day against Wolves and he practically won them the game.

Re: Al-Habsi to leave
TBH I didn't even know he was playing for us towards the end of last season as I was working abroad and didn't get to see many games. I also never said he was all-round great from that game, just that he practically won them the game in question.Bruce Rioja wrote:So, let me get this right. Re: Al-Habsi to leave
It was during Megson's first season in charge I believe. Jussi had a back injury and Habsi took control and was an important factor in our remaining up that season. Oh he was also our keeper in the game against Bayern Munich.Eire_Trotter wrote:TBH I didn't even know he was playing for us towards the end of last season as I was working abroad and didn't get to see many games.
