Hmm. Just broke my own golden rule by looking at a couple of reviews beforehand. They're 'mixed' to say the least. It looks to have a strong cast though. I'll let you know how it goes. Right now though it's sausage butty and coffee time.East Lower wrote:Saw that at the cinema - wasn't keen.

Just watched it and it's left me with a feeling of indifference really. I wouldn't urge anyone to rush out and see it, but equally I certainly wouldn't urge anyone to avoid it either.General Mannerheim wrote:I thought Goats was really good.

I watched Eric and Ernie, last night. You may recal my earlier mention of it. Nothing short of absolutely stunning - really. Without a doubt the best biographical drama that I've ever seen. The accuarcy in impersonation needs to be seen to be believed.

See, I can't agree with that, William. Brilliant though she was there's nothing to measure her performance against, whereas the exact opposite is true for the two guys playing Eric and Ernie.William the White wrote:Very good stuff... Re: What are you watching tonight?
Yeah - they were both very good - but she got to the emotional core of her character and I thought they sometimes chickened out of that... acting is different to impersonation, even in this case... All that stuff around the 'betrayal' and who would give in first didn't really get through because we hadn't truly bought into the emotional interdependence...Bruce Rioja wrote:See, I can't agree with that, William. Don't get me wrong - was excellent drama and would watch again! But she is very special - writer, musician, entertainer, comic and actor... Fantastic talent...

I've been to Italy, and I know that not everyone is that beautiful... But wish I'd been one of the casting directors...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just watched it, Boris, and I have to say that it is without doubt the finest stageplay made into film version that I've ever seen. Absolutely superb. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were born to star alongside each other. To be honest, mate, for you to say that this is the worst film that you've ever seen only indicates that you'd no idea what you were getting into in the first place and just assume all films to be... well, films!boltonboris wrote:Bruce, Honestly.. Don't watch it..Bruce Rioja wrote:Well, let me watch it first, Boris, but already I've got Ocean's Twelve up my sleve and ready to play as my trump card.boltonboris wrote:Sweeny Todd is the worst film I've ever seen. I think Anderson is quite likeable but I want the English man to win.
Lewis has done a 9 darter and takes the first set.
